Interesting post -- could you expand on this please ,
I am unfamiliar with either vehicle pictured .
The 2605 is the Japanese tank ?
What is the vehicle below it ?

The bottom one is a Wargaming creation called the Conqueror Gun Carriage. While there was a trend of proposed SPG vehicles, such as FV207 and FV3805, there was never any blueprints for the ConqGC.
This isn't the first time Amusing Hobby have done this.
The top one is the Type 2605, referred as the Type 5 in WoT.

I would buy the Conqueror Gun Carrier just for the shake of building all three Amusing Hobby kits of the Conqueror.
And since it is a what-if, would definately change the gun with something longer and BIGGER!!!

Nice the Type 5, if I remember well the Allied found a prototype at the end of the war...

So there is the Chi-ri and that napkin scribble supposition proposal of a paper Panzer. One is real and the other is a best guess of a supposition of a theory of a guess of something someone took a photo of. The cryptozoology of tank design.
But it would look awesome in Girls und Panzer markings.

Well except for the name they gave it in WoT, Type 5, there is no connection between the two tanks as far as I know

To me except for size and suspension they appear virtually identical. One looks to be an inflated version of the other with side skirts added.

Supposedly, the Type 2604 and 2605 are based on poorly sketched drawings and some engine compartment notes from a Soviet engineer who interviewed Japanese tank designers. It makes the paper panzers look like in-service vehicles by comparison. With that stated, the Type 5 will probably be a fun build and look nice next to a Maus. I confess to being surprised to see a Conqueror variant but also surprised they didn't go for the A45 tank, which was at least built as a prototype and is also in WoT. Maybe down the line though. . . .

If it helps, I recently bought a Mk.2 resin Centurion turret and the older Classic Military Vehicles magazine with the photo article as reference to start my own, so I have tried to contribute to this inevitability!

Lion Marc makes one that is out of production but pops up on ebay (how I got mine). However, Accurate Armor has a new Centurion Mk.2 and Mk.3 conversion set with the turrets available.

I have no issue with companies making prototype or "mythical" tanks and planes. As long as it is getting someone into the hobby, I am all game. And from talking to a LHS owner, he says there are kids coming in asking about certain tanks they have seen in the WoT game, so more power to drawing the youth to model building.

I have no issue with it either, in fact I love the prototypes. I just wish some company besides Dragon would do the subjects that are in their Black Label line.
