I'd prefer one with the engine inside.

That piece looks awfully detailed to be 1/35 scale. You suppose they are going for a large scale release, like 1/16 maybe?

It's a CAD drawing.

Understood, but maintaining that level of detail (note the little grease fitting with a cap and the split retainers) at 1/35 will be tough. Those hard edges on curved parts will want to round a bit in moulding. Just saying it would be easier to do at 1/16 and retain the detail the drawing shows.

How about a cast hull M3A1 Lee? Then add a CDL turret to it!

The logical assumption from commercial POV would be an M3 Medium Family. New tooled Grants and Lees would be excellent and given the number of variants would suit Takom. Welded vs Rivetted Hull, Diesel versus Petrol, CDL, Late hulls with no side doors, M31 TRV etc. Lots of scope. Of course the M3 Type bogey could also be from the Canadian Ram Family, M7 GMC or even an Early M4 , M4a2 or m4a1 Sherman. We allied modellers are long overdue a Sherman with Interior

And look at that, a Grant with the driver's periscope, other style fenders and WE210 track. I got exactly what I asked for.

And another "early" M3 Lee, but at least they label it that way which holds out hope for a "mid" and "late" Lee. Pleeeeease.

Suggestions for what I should do with my unbuilt Tamiya Lee, a handful of those, and one Grant will be appreciated.
1. Painting practice ?
2. .22 cal target practice?
3. Use as a source for styrene sheet with rivet heads?
4. Scrap/Wrecks for dioramas (nice idea but I don't do dioramas ..)
5. further suggestions, please help ....

Sell them on e-bay, donate them, add them plenty of AM stuff as Tamiya models are always solid bases for upgrades, build them with kids to teach them basic stuff...

Aaah. An early Lee with all the rivets in the right places and proper bogies. The world is a bit brighter.

Been waiting for years for this moment! Hope they are better than Academys. I am i think a rare type of modeller that doesn't actually have a stash of kits waiting to be built one day. I buy a kit then build it, and this new Lee kit will be this winters project !
