Hi everybody!
Glad to see everyone plugging along. It has been a long time since I have posted anything but I have been working on my Panther D. I have a metal barrel, PE schurzen, and fruil tracks on the way to make this thing pop. I was going to model the hatch open and add a commander but the inside of the coupola has no detail so I just glued the lid on.
Great looking builds going on. Keep up the great work!

Some more update pics. Tamiya Panther D coming along on schedule. Aber schurzen and an Orange Hobby metal barrel added. Still waiting on my tracks.

haven't gotten to much farther along. But thought I would share this purchase.

I purchased this for $1.00 at the Dollar store. Just strong enough and light enough to make ease of sanding tasks.

Finally got the kitty out again and finished building

I used a coarser mesh on the raised grilles as the super-fine Tamiya supplied stuff would be opaque once painted. Next up - priming

Nice preshading, Bryan.

Richard, very good job on the PE zimmerit. I sometimes get gaps between the plastic armour and the PE parts. Yours look perfect!

Looking forward to see more.

I have started building my Tiger. Basic construction is done. I have left the small bits of for the moment as I want to use decal camouflage for this one. It will be interesting.

That's some great pre-shading Bryan! Are you afraid that the other colors of the camo will cover up the pre-shaded portion of the base coat?

Hi Matt,
You are right. The three tone cammo has largely covered the preshading but it can be seen. In my mind the pre shading should be very subtle so I am not bothered that much of it is covered. I think it adds some depth to the model without being over powering. I’m at work now but will try to post an update pic so you can see for yourself. I always use Tamiya Black Green to preshade dark yellow.

Nice Camo work, Bryan!

I have basecoated my tiger and given it a gloss coat. Next are the Camo decals.

I was skeptical of the preshading, as some modelers tend to make it too subtle and almost indistinguishable after the camo is applied. I think you struck the right balance of subtlety and visibility with your work, great job!

I do agree with you that preshading should not be overpowering, I've seen some that are way too noticeable (mine included). I like your idea of using Black Green for preshading, I am going to steal that and try it on my next Dark Yellow build.

Coming along very slowly hope to finish in 1 month.
Turret and hull are only dry fitted at this time. Will purchase an aftermarket 7.62mm as the one that is included is horrible.

Looking good everyone! Took her outside for some pics today. Natural light always makes things look different. Here is where I'm at.

Well, we are getting there. wheels on, tracks are built but not painted. Did a couple layers of very diluted buff to blend and lighten the vehicle overall. I think the decals are needing some dulling down, probably another dull coat layer over entire kit. A few details here and there need attention. should be finished up by end of the week.
