That will be another variant specific release. Think about it this way; the company gets burned by detail-oriented modelers if they try to stuff too many variants into one box because they will invariably forget some change or another.

So they put one specific version in the box and they still get burned because it is not the version some detail-oriented modelers want... so they can't win, can they?

Meng models are like Tamiya kits: they build themselves. The difference is that they're waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more accurate.

T-72 seen alot fighting in syria and iraq,may be meng could add Sarab IRCM.not to mention the decal for syria and iraq,(T-72 are being phase out in eastern europe)

The main difference between b and b1 is the gunner sight...B can launch guided missile with another gunner sight, while T-72B1 uses another sight which similar to A that cant fire missile...so the exterior difference is the gunner sight. As for the roadwheels..you can see many photos in many incidents these years that T-72B/B1 uses difference roadwheels on one tanks and it is quite normal....with only one set of roadwheel and not including another gunner sight will highly limited your paiting options.... on the contrary....the trumpy one offers all of them....in one box....even the version of BA(B with k1 era and cross wind sensor)

What I mean is not about winning...it will just limit our options of painting and incidents it uses.....because it should included enough options for T-72B....

its nice but then there are other people doing this kit out there, i was really hoping that someone would take up the challenge and make a T-72AV so that there was a god option to do a syrian civil war version

This is a great news! I am so glad that I held off on buying the Trumpeter T-72 kit with reactive armor. I anticipate this kit to be more accurate.

Hi Everybody;

"YOU GUYS CRACK ME UP" !!!!! The Average modeller does not give A Rat's Patuti on which version is in the box ! Its only the Geek's like us to argue over; So I guess I am A Geek also ! Trying to Figure which version of A specific vehicle I want to build is getting to be an Enigma. The T-72 is the only Tank that has gotten so much attention in kit form for different versions than any other vehicle that I can think of. If you do not like A veriant; Its simple,--Don't Buy It !!! O.K.--Can anyone Count How many Version's we have !( Not Counting Tamiya ) --
And Should we Add the T-90 into the equation; After all its just A Hoped-up T-72. Now Don't get your Panty Hose all Tied Up in Knotts, some will say Yes and some will say No !! When it comes rite down to it, I like all the Different Versions !! "WHY" --Because I am A "GEEK"

I haven't check thoroughly yet but ... mixing MENGs T-72B3 with their T-90 cast turret kit should make the last T-72B version (called T-72BA1 I believe)... the one prior to the B3 version with the IR-light still on the right side and the anti-radiation package on the turret.

The IR-light is already included in the T-72B3 kit ... with all parts available I believe this B version is gonna come out next.

I can understand the excitement of many people about this news, and I respect it.
And I'm far of complaining about how many "B" variants manufacturers keep releasing in the future -as a lot of people do every time DML releases a new Tiger I version, just to give an example.-

Yet again, for me this one is a "No, thanks...".
No complains, no "why didn't they release the "..." version instead?", just not interested in this particular one.
I'll keep my money until they follow with another versions instead -which I'm sure will happen in a not so far future-.

Maybe I'm another kind of "geek", ala Sheldon Cooper style.

Think on Tiger I, and you'll find a vehicle offered in far wider kit options than the T-72.
Of course I and some other people will not buy a version I/we do not like, it's nothing new...
And yet we can keep saying we are not interested nor excited about this new kit. The same way you can get excited about every new kit to be announced, and share your excitement here.

With actual part you mentioned from Meng Model you will only get a rare variant that took part in UA crisis which is a T-72B1 with k5 reactive armor, if you want T-72B mod1989 and 1990 you will still need a T-72B feature which also showed in your photo. the Guided missile sight(very different from B1)

I guess it is based on Meng's previous kits' quality and accuracy, and the general consensus about them.

While I'm not one of their biggest fans, mainly due to what I feel a quite soft/brittle material, I must recognize that they deserve a consistent good to excellent qualification...
At least in comparison to the current market options.
