Tim, hi, sorry, silly omission on my part, yes, this show was in Folkestone in England, the same venue as the EuroMilitaire show; to save you looking it up, it's the most south eastern part of the UK, nearest to France.
C Johnsen - it is a pretty strange looking building; from the street at the top it looks tiny, with the big hall being built into the cliff. The competition room at this event is in that section suspended on the stilts.
Dave - I wouldn't worry about upsetting anyone with your observation as they were both done by the same guy, Rob Henden, the stormtrooper getting him the silver medal, and he also won bronze with the Corporal Jones bust. I personally really liked that single gold winning entry in the converted / scratchbuilt class. As we know however, judging often comes down to looking at flaws or errors etc. and as I didn't get to pick it up and view it from different angles then I can't really back up my judgment. Can't say I'm a big bust fan. (That sounds slightly wrong, I know).
Interesting however to compare the stormtooper that you are referring to with the other stormtroooper entry - no disrespect to the other one, but I agree with you that you can see the class in Rob Henden's painting skills.
