I used "Green Stuff" for the first time on these sandbags. I like how they came out. All these were formed on the kit using sandwich wrap to prevent sticking. I will paint them separately.

It could be the angle from which the pictures are taken but one of them looks to me as though it partially obscures the driver's view through his vision block. Given that he has no other forward view options, I'd imagine that this is unlikely in real life, so you may wish to check whether it is actually in the way before fixing it permanently.

The ones on the roof will also block the commander's view through his cupola periscopes, so I don't know how likely that is in a tactical situation (Pz IIIs in Africa did carry jerricans in that position which also blocked the view but they only did so on approach marches, not if action was anticipated).

Thank you.

I used the new Mission Models Paints, RAL 8020 and RAL 7027 over their gray primer.

Not bad, I like the option of adding the poly for an hard semi gloss finish. They are easy to use once mixing ratios are learned.

Really like how you did the little tie offs on the end of each bag. And the one spare road wheel still in grey! It's the little things. Guess this tank isn't carrying a bow gunner/radio man since the bow mg side viewport are covered with sandbags? Again a nice touch as people don't realize that often tanks would fight with short crews due to personnel shortages. This was especially true in the Western Desert.

Love PzIII's and this one is a real winner! Really has that "command tank" look to it. Nice detailing as well!

Thank you sir!

Being a command tank there is no kugelblende for an MG in the bow position, just a pistol port. Looking at period photos I see quite a few tanks, not just befehlswagens, had something over the mg mount and the viewports. My guess was the minimal protection was preferred over vision.

I took a restrained approach to the weathering based on two facts. These were the first purpose built command tanks with guns, the first series being built Sept-Nov. 1943. They would still be fairly new by the time of the Tunisian battles.

Then, it's the COMMAND tank. The bosses ride, especially the Regimental commander, should be as good as new every day.

I found an old Tamiya figure which fit the build. Painted up, he looks ready to begin the engagement. I think it looks good.

So did the judges.
