You guys rock, thanks for the picker uppers this morning. And my brain has been jolted into remembering the "Mice and Men" reference. One of my favorite stories.

Geez Jerry! this has got to be some of the most realistic diorama work I have ever seen.
Can't wait for the next installment.

Got some more layers added.

I like the rose bush.

Here you can see my grapevine. The curly ques are hard to see though. Very thin.

Almost about wrapped up with groundwork now.
Thanks for looking,
J

Jerry Rutman, you are a rockstar!!!!!

Seriously this is, as some have stated already, some of the best work on terrain I have ever seen too...

Your ability to build, to create, an atmosphere and to tell a story with just your placement of items is as good as it gets. Then you write about what you're trying to accomplish and it just gets better. Great job J.

There's a blade of grass, third picture down, over on the left side, waay too tall, man. Fix it and you'll be doing ok.

So, have you ever actually seen this place or are you pulling it out of your mind-hole? Very peaceful wherever it is. Looks like a fine place to spend some time. Your detail work is superb. Muy Bueno.

Everyone’s already used all the deserved superlatives Jerry, so for me it’s still a cake - but now even more delicious. Soon to be joined by wabbit pie?

Like everyone else says, outstanding! The natural appearance of the cottage & the groundwork are great. Looks like something in one of those Lord of the Rings movies. Look forward to more updates.

Seriously?
This is epic. I was listening to Moonsorrow along the way and reading your stuff. Fantastic build there, awesome greens and surroundings and the building, WOW.... insane!
Great job.

Great stuff Jerry!

A nice random natural look to it.

You're right to like the roses, they look particularly good.
I had trouble myself with the paper ivy (I think that's what you've used), ended up cutting off the leaves and gluing them to my own stems. Yours look great.

Wow,I haven't checked in here for a few and am so happy to see such nice comments and so many ! Thank you so much you guys rock !
Phil,I did square away that blade of grass so rest easy buddy.

Here is some work on figure mods. Nothing too spectacular here.
First off,the fowl.
I had an ancient Tamiya farmyard set but I only had two roosting hens and one barnyard pimp. I was going to cast the hens to get some numbers going but decided to just modify them. I wanted to show them eating. First thing was add the missing bottom half.

I then had to cut off the head and re-position them, followed by some scribing, etc and then the addition of legs and feet. Putty will now be added to blend things in,etc.

The pimp was just cleaned up nd will be used as is.The chick was given legs. I have two more to do. Mr Duck was also just cleaned up.

I know this is very exciting talking about fowl. Maybe a little kid will be more interesting.
Here is how he came out of the box.

He was MB from a peasants in the east set.
Early 19th century shirt and pants were added and his frown was changed to a smile. He also has suitable hair now for 1800 or so.

I have to add buttons to his trousers and smooth stuff out but this guy is far along.

Moving on to the old man next. Thanks for looking gents.
