Hello,

It’s been a while since I last posted a build log but I have not stopped building. I was working on a Dragon Stug 3 Ausf. G Early Production (6320) and enhancing it with the following parts:

CMK Stug 3 Ausf G – Drivers Set (3134)
CMK Stug 3 Ausf G – Engine Set (3135)
Aber Stuk.40 L/48 75mm Gun (35 L-58)
Aber German Tank Radio set (35 A079)
Aber German tool holders (35 A99)
Griffon Model Universal Fenders for Stug 3 (L35 A126)
Friulmodel Panzer 3/Stug 3 tracks

The build is almost done; I can’t progress further until I start painting and so it’s the ideal time to show my progress. I also need to finish off the engine bay and wire up the radio, which I cant do at this stage of the build process before the components are painted.

I am hurrying to finish the Stug to embark on a more ambitious project next which I will include a full build log on the forums.

Wow. Just... wow. It's almost a shame to paint it and hide all that beautiful work.

Fabulous work and it really does puts into perspective just how cramped and claustrophobic the inside of these AFVs could be.

The panel is a CMK part which I modified. The CMK kit(s)are very nice, shame they are so hard to get hold of.

Lots of impressive and cool scratch-building. That's an impressive list of kits you've accumulated. Can you give us an estimated budget on what you've done so far? Do any of the interior kits come with ammo?

Thanks for your comments, sadly none of the kits come with ammo although I think I have a few 75mm shells some where.

I have spent roughly £150/176€/188$ on the Stug so far.

So... care to drop a hint about what the more ambitious project in the on-deck circle might be?

Hello all,

I have a quick update on the Stug 3. I have painted the lower interior and almost finished the engine bay. I have not weathered the crew section at all because I wanted to finish it at the same time as the upper hull.

Oh my next build will be a 1/35 Tacom King Tiger built to a 1/16th detail standard. I have the Trumpeter kit and lots of books and build logs of the 16th kit to follow. I will not be a standard build at all.

I have primed the rest of the hull components and then sprayed them with a light coating of Tamyia TS-6 flat black before a final coat of Ammo Mig 017 Cremeweiss.





Oh I took a shortcut and did not cover the ejector pin marks on the armour over the engine bay even though I ended up painting it

Think about the MENG KT and its interior set-I'm building the base kit now and it's quite the treat.

I could build them side by side I guess, would have to buy the meng kit and the add on interior though which would cost around £60 ish together which is not an issue if people want to see it.

If people want to see the meng and takom king tigers being built side by side let me know in this thread.

Hi Steven, the Stug looks fantastic. It seems a shame to close it all up and not being able to see the awesome job you have done on it. I too would love to see the 2 King Tigers built side by side. I am curious if the interiors from either of them would fit a Tamiya or Dragon KT. I have a few of both in the stash. I look forward to seeing your next update......Dale

Hello All,
I am slightly behind on finishing the Stug 3 because of my activity yesterday on the Kingtiger thread. However the interior (save the radio, wiring and MP40’s) is almost completed.

I will shortly glue the superstructure into the hull and because the 75mm gun is a real pain to get on and off the kit it will be permanently mounted. The rest of the hull will then be primed and painted.
