I've been googling, but can't seem to find anything helpful.

I'm interested in building a full (or nearly full) Leopold train with all the cars that would be in a typical train.

Anyone have any reference material on what all the Engine pulled besides the gun?

Thanks!

No idea but you will probably find suitable candidates here. I assume that the crew traveled in a standard passenger coach you may find in a Model Rail shop.

Don't forget the dining car, and the scenic coach!

Hi Jake,

According to my dusty copy of German Railroad Guns in action (Armor no.15, Squardon/Signal, 1976) the K5E had two trains consisting of:

Train 1 (the "gun" train):
Locomotive
K5E
ventilated ammunition car (I later learned this was where ammo was fused/assembled, and the generator stored in transit)
diesel switching loco (Orenstein-Koppel model C14)
2 no. shell cars
2 no. propellent charge cars
equipment car with tools & supplies
armored railroad car "for defence of the gun crew using small arms"
kitchen/supply car
fire control car (blast proof)
flat car with Flak 38 and 3 buses for recon/QM use

Train 2 ("Turntable train"):
locomotive
one car for each section of the 29.46m turntable (divided in the centre drive section [in half? text is unclear])
one car carrying the 16 sections of curved turntable track and construction crane
car with rail & track fittings
3 no. ammunition cars
supply/tool car
Flak car
9 no. flat cars with buses & other vehicles.

Exact car types are not identified, nor are the steam loco types. These last may have been BR50s.

Hope this helps!
