Angel, your Su-76 turned out wonderfully. The weathering is very realistic. Are you planning on adding any crew members? I think vehicles look better populated. Just a thought.
Happy modeling. Bill

Update on PLA 105mm recoilless gun.

Painting is underway. Commander is 90% done. Remaining crew, ammo, and gun are still being worked on.
Thanks for viewing. More updates to follow. Bill

Linus, awesome job on that old Tamiya kit. The Quad tractor and 25 pounder gun looks terrific. I like the sandy, wind-blown weathering.

Great work there Linus, though I would have hated being part of the crew that had to get that 55 gal. oil drum up onto the back of that tractor!

Really enjoying your work William, much more than I thought I would given the small size of that recoil-less gun. Very nice!

A little bit closer. Not going to be the final color. Just a step in the process.

Much work on my churchill mk.V since february, but the build is now finished:

I've learned a lot of things and improve my building skills, specially on photoetch.

And now, let's paint this churchill !

Angel - I love the way your Suchka turned out. I have the Tamiya kit. To build a Suchka does the kit need any mods?

Unfortunately, Looks like I'm not going to get anything done for this campaign. Still so busy with the new job and getting the new house in order, I haven't touched a modeling tool (other than sort of unpacking them) since the beginning of May.

Good luck to everyone else on your Arty builds!

Late, late, late on this one, but being home from hernia surgery gives me lots of time. Going to try to finish!

Clayton,William,Paul-thanks!

William, I fully agree with you that open vehicles look much better when populated.Unfortunately-I lack any skill in figure painting..

Paul, AFAIK Tamiya's kit is newer than the MiniArt's kit I used for my build. So it should build into a splendid Suchka.
BTW Suchka(Russian for b*tch) was one of the nicknames Russian crews gave to this SPG-mainly because of it's "character"(catching fire rapidly, lack of protection for the crew).

That is a good story, thank you for it. I have heard that Sherman crews had similar names for that tank later in the war.

Paul, Sherman crews gave their tank the ignominious name....Ronson. It was a lighter used then. It's slogan was..."Always lights on the 1st strike". Referring to the Sherman's tendency to catch fire after being hit by enemy rounds.
There's a book called Death Traps. It documents the horror of being a Sherman tank crewman.

OK, construction is done. The tracks are only dry fit, as is the gun and mounting. Won't secure them until I'm done painting. I also need room to use the Archers transfers for all the gauges and signage on the dash board. Also some putty work to do on the gun
