An absolute rarity: a D9 is towing a destroyed "Merkava" turret during the Second Lebanon War.

No sign of a ladder - is the occupant stuck inside when it goes up? Can't say I fancy that duty...

Looks like the "cab" or sniping box is on giant rocker arms that keep the occupant level to the ground as they raise or lower the boom. It's an interesting design made for a very specific area.

I'm not certain but a forklift type elevation mechanism might've also done the trick although it might be to ungainly while driving around and not in use. This way the boom simply goes piggy back on the vehicle as I'm sure they included a locking mechanism once boom is lowered.

But of course! "The target is never more than 90 degrees away".

Great....thanks to this thread there a dozen new projects I want to embark on.

Reluctant Renegade or Kylie, any additional info on the Achzarit with the guardrail pics you posted on pages 2 and 3? Time frame, location etc.? It's an early version?

I'm about 90% finished with Meng's Achzarit Late and with Meng's guardrail set in the stash this would definitely make for something different.

Seriously though, thanks to all the contributors, this really is a great thread....even if it is going to make my wallet a bit lighter.
