@Karl: Thanks for the link and the detailed explanation!

@Chris: Glad to have you here! Very intriguing kit(s), indeed.

Almost there now. Everythings together now except for things like the wing mirrors (which I always knock off when painting) and the tools and windscreen. Next step is doing the camouflage. I may cam the other one I'd built a few weeks back as I'd just done that in Dunkelgelb but if they're both going in the same dio I should really have unit continuity and have them both the same really.

For some reason the paint looks different colours under the light. Most odd. I think I'll do a straightforward three colour cam as I think I've finally got the hang of my airbrush after a bit of practice and messing about. Once that's done just the weathering to do and add the final parts.

Thanks Ken, it's a nice little kit to build. Straightforward and fits together with no effort. I like open topped vehicles as there's so much more you can do with them. Not only adding extra bits and bobs, crew figures but weathering the inside to make it look lived in. It makes it a lot more interesting for me.

That looks excellent, Karl! Great little kit.

Glad to have you join, Martin! I built one of these last year. I think it took me 2-3 from popping it open until finishing it. Admittedly, my standards were not as high as yours appear to be.

Cristian, thanks mate. It's almost done now. I had the airbrush out last night so now just the weathering to do on the outside and it's done. There's a couple of little bits I'm not overly happy with but I don't fancy stripping it and restarting it just for the sake of a couple of iffy spots. It's one of those judgement calls where you think "What if I make a complete mess on the second go and make it worse?" so I've decided to err on the side of caution and leave it as it is. Will post some more pics up later today when it's done.

Blimey, it's very quiet in here lol. I've finished. I've not put any divisional markings on as yet as I've not decided who I'm marking it up as. It's going in a Hungary 1945 dio so I need to work out which Heer units were around Budapest. I've quite enjoyed this build as all in all it was a nice kit to build plus I got to do my usual stocking the vehicle up with kit. I've got another one almost done as well as I'd already built that one but sprayed it up at the same time as this one. I started putting kit in but rather than work on both I decided to clear this one first as it's my campaign entry.

I'm reasonably pleased with it. I need to spray some dirt on the windscreen and up the sides but I'll wait till I've got the airbrush out again to do that. The one thing that I was quite chuffed with was the buckle on the fuel can strap which I made from 5amp fuse wire and paper. Fiddly but it seemed to work okay. I'm easily pleased with little bits like that lol. I may build something else as there's a few months left and this was quite a quick build. Having said that it probably took me as long to paint all the kit and put it inside as it did for me to build the whole vehicle! I think going to have a figure building session for a couple of weeks now. Thanks for the campaign Cristian. I really enjoyed myself

Paints used were Tamiya XF60 Dark Yellow, XF79 Linoleum deck Brown, XF74 OD(JGSDF). XF85 Rubber Black for the tyres and heavily diluted XF52 Dark Earth for the tyre wash. Chips are done with Vallejo 70822 German Camo Black Brown and an 8B pencil which is basically just soft graphite so when you sharpen it there's no wood so I could use the edges of it on edges of doors etc. I thought I'd put that just in case anyone was wondering what colours I'd used as it's something I always wonder when I look at other peoples work and invariably ask so I can make a note for future reference. Yes, I know it's sad but I've got a notebook I write colour mixes etc in lol.

Thanks Ken. Considering it's a 150 piece kit it took me longer than I thought it would.

Thanks chaps, glad that you like it. I always find it quite gratifying when people like what I've built as it shows me that I'm on the right track when I doubt myself

Proof that a small count model can look like a 750+. Super work, Karl!
