Years ago, I heard about stick-on teeny tiny little discs that were small enough to use as clothing buttons or rivets. Does this product still exist?

I know that Archer makes rivet decals in different sizes that may work for you. They are dots of plastic on water-slide decal film.

Depending on the scale of your figure, Grandt Line do some small round head rivets in injection plastic that might work. Each has a thin tail for insertion in a small drilled hole. Their smallest is 0.032" / 0.8mm. Decal surface details like the Archer ones worry me from the long-term adhesion perspective. Decal adhesive isn't that strong. But perhaps once painted over ......
