Good looking camo net! Maybe a tad too tight meshed? You could loosen it up a bit by pulling it a bit apart.

Yeah apparently the gauze I used was a bit thick and more stretch resistant. It shrank after drying.

I'm going to try again with a thinner gauze. This one has larger holes but is more fragile so I can't stretch it too much.

I'm going to build Dragon's M1A2 SEP V2 Abrams with working tracks.

In the meantime, I've painted the wheel hubs, now just need to paint the rubber parts. Started work on the turret:


While doing some reading I read about a supposed variant that got armed with a 105 called the type 69 QM-1. So I'm going to give that a try. No pics yet, but I do have the gun on already, and there was a mishap with the mantle cover which now has cracks in places that will need some fixing up.

A very promising start! Looking forward to more of this!

Dragon 1/35 JT. The box says 890 parts with only 6 parts marked as "not for use". Time to get cracking.

I literally haven't done a thing to mine. Unfortunately I just don't think I'm going to finish this time.

I hope I learned something here. I started with the hope to build Dragon's 6301 Panzer IV E Vorpanzer, but added Eduard's detail set and then a resin driver's compartment from CMK and a resin engine from Tank Workshop. A lot of work and it was starting to be a real Frankentank, though what progress I've made looks very cool. But there is so much decision making and triple checking to get four different companies' products to play nice that I just had to shelve that kit and switch to Dragon's 6300 Panzer IV H Late Production. I'm just worried that I may have to add to the OOB build to meet the 750 part count requirement. This experience has definitely changed my perspective. I never realized just how quickly one could "slap out" a Dragon Panzer IV. The suspension felt like a breeze and everything just fell into place.

Sorry to hear about the frustration with the add-ons. I'm sure you an still finish the second start in time even if it would require a few after market parts of its own. Your progress looks really good so far.

Reached the "showroom condition" stage. Was short nearly 100 pieces, but with 79 extra spare tracks, I got to 762 by my count. The camouflage may seem outrageous, but it's the look I wanted. Next up is the weather and wear.

I managed to get some time on the bench and got to work on my build.



This represents 284 of the 884 parts that make up this kit. The remaining 600 are the tracks





Cleaning up the parts are a pain...especially the 3 small links





I hope to finish the tracks in the next few days....If I don't loose my sanity that is.

I plan to finish this kit as Black 314 of sPj. Abt 653. As per my research it had a 3 color camo scheme and was one of the two Porsche JT with no zimm.

Yessir! Entered a Maus yesterday in Animals campaign also. Due by end of June. Trying to get a few good campaigns under the belt.

Got the first phase of weather and wear mostly on. The first rust oil color is still shiny. It's also good to take lots of photos so one can see things that need to be corrected. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
