Thanks Mark for the comments and advise -- much appreciated. Given the few days to the deadline, my worry is screwing this one up, and have no time to recover.

Very nicely-executed camo--very clean!

Maybe going over the whole thing with a semi-opaque coat of panzer grey will tone down the IJN look?

Thanks K -- nice shading you have there!

After taking off the masks:

Looking at it now, it seems more like an IJA Tank!

Hello,

Progress over the last couple of weeks:

The tracks came on last. I counted close to 400 parts to build just the tracks as each of the guide horns have to be glued on. Anyways, am happy with the results.

Next was the three-color scheme. I've used rattle cans -- Tamiya Light Sand, a generic red primer from the DIY store, and finally topped it off with Tamiya Field Gray -- it looked greenish to me so I thought I'd give it a try.

Crossing my fingers that any bleeding can be easily fixed.

Did I post this? Maybe not. I declare this done. Trumpeter's Piranha wasn't bad but there were fit problems and plenty of flash.

Daniel,
The pre-shading is going to look great when this is done. I'm amazed at how steady your hand is. My pre-shading looks more like zig-zags.

Since I suggested this campaign here is my entry, a Lindberg Dodge Charger Super Bee. A charger was a term for a Knights war horse and of course the bee is an insect.

I hope to have it finished by the deadline.

Quoted Text

Hello,

Learned today that "waldo is a genus of small marine clams in the family Galeommatidae", which is good reason or excuse for choosing Industria Mechanika's Waldo for this group build

It's a resin kit of small airborne boat with quite a lot of photo etch, wooden deck and decals. Just opened the box:

I like how you think. Would look perfect with some Live Resin's G3A3's on board, alternate reality for the win!
