After receiving stellar feedback on his DEVGRU miniatures in 1/35 scale, Maciek Rebkowski, the owner and creative force behind Airborne Miniatures, decided to sculpt almost identical figures in 1/16 scale. The result is one of the most impressive sets from the company so far, a large scale action packed vignette showing two DEVGRU operators about to engage the enemy.

Agreed, the figures are beautifully carved and exact almost to the point of being beyond belief. Hugh praise and kudos.

Now, one small questionable item that has to do with the posing of the dio and not the figures themselves. Why is the standing soldier about to shoot his partner in the back? Breaching protocol would have the soldier in the rear pointing his weapon towards the ground in this diorama arrangement. Better to move the rear figure a bit more forward and to his right so as to be shooting over the shoulder of the kneeling figure.

It could just be the angle of the photograph.

I think the second figure is about to move forward, leaning slightly to the right. The kneeling figure is actually providing backup for his teammate advance.

This photo shows the pair from the other angle:

You got it! It was just the angle of the photograph. My bad!

Great review and build-up, Mario!

These figures could also probably pass for S.W.A.T. with the removal of some military-specific equipment.

Awesome figures from Airborne Miniatures!

No, not really. I've these and they are great figures, as stated in the above review. With the larger scale comes greater detail, as casting the finer details is easier.

These could pass as FBI HRT or a similar tactical policing unit, given so many now use the gear depicted.

Bring on the next great release from A.M. I say.

Hi Mario,

I just received these figures along with the 35th scale versions and I cannot agree with you more, these are absolutely superb ! Your review is extremely helpful and I will be referring to it constantly, I'm sure.

Thanks and cheers,
