That's what i was hoping for.

Here is the rest of the tarp added along with a few more jackets, etc. When the putty is completely dry I will touch up the edges, etc and add a few bits of PE. Started to fill in the folks at the front of the truck bed.

When I get this combo knocked down I will do some cutting and adding arms, etc to make them blend into each other more.

Hi Jerry, great job on that tarp brother. Also like the progress on the truck add-ons. It's going to look awesome when done, thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the words of support J!! I appreciate it much.
Here is the family grouping in the front of the cargo area. Mom,child and Opa. I thought they would be harder to get to mesh but things clicked just right today for once. Now I need to fill in the gaps with putty. Take a gander,

Hung some more laundry out to dry as well.

Next up are the two relaxing guys next to the family.

Ha!! I knew there was no way a Jerry R project would "just" have a bunch of figures standing around in the bed of a truck! Looking good with the family!

Kurt and Nick,
Thanks for the encouragement to keep me going fellas.
While the putty dries on the family grouping,I got some more guys pretty much wrapped up. I am going for late war conscripts type of guys. Bit older and not too keen on the whole "war" thing. Two guys have the last version of the feldblause with twp pockets while the third is sort of Wehrmacht casual friday.
The hats are just tacked on so I can remove them to facilitate the painting. Have a look,

Lots to accomplish still. Hope I didn't gite off more than I can handle.

The three late war dudes look fabulous. I am sure the civilians will look just as good as these dudes after you work them over

Meine Gott, those Wehrmacht guys are posed perfectly. They look exhausted and sick of the scenario they're in. Really great construction on that lot.

Fantastic work as usual,I love the way all the figures in all your work 'belong' together, not just thrown at the groundwork in the hope they stick,it all adds to the bigger story you're (very successfully) putting across....
Those videos of the surrendering German troops on YouTube are very inspirational and you are well on your way to illustrating in miniature the defeated human cargo streaming towards the West to escape a perceived ( and unfortunately sometimes real ) threat.

And that third figure....did Montgomery really get picked up by the Volkssturm at the end of the war?

Brilliant as always,watching with interest

Greg,Conor and Steve,
Thanks for the inspirational words gents. With my short attention span these days I will need a bit of encouragement to keep it up on this one.
Steve, yes, apparently at the end of the war the Field Marshal had a change of heart when he saw how fast the Soviets were advancing into western Europe. This little known episode is now largely forgotten as he switched sides yet again for the victory ceremonies.
Apparently he suddenly remembered only the English truly know how to brew a cuppa.
I am very impressed with Miniart figs the more I use them. Excellent sculpting.

Thanks Kurt, always nice to see you turn up.
I have a lot of work done lately but only this pic. Sorry.
It shows a "Vincent Price" looking guy that is a Luftwaffe groundcrew aka "Schwartzemann". He will be smoking a ciggie. I also worked a bit on the first family. I couldn't live with the size of the boys' head as cast. The human head is already full grown when quite early in our childhood so his head was waaaay too small. Hornet to the rescue. I am changing the head and hair on the girl and that is till in progress along with adding a skirt while the Mum got a handbag and is getting her hand re-worked so it will grasp the canvas tilt bow.

Another master work in progress...

Jerry, it seems like such a minor detail but in all your figure work, have you ever seen a baseball cap? I could one or two of them...

Thanks.

Loving the latest work Jerry- I think you made the right decision about the boy's head- it looks much better now and slightly downcast and apprehensive- perfect for the scenario I think. The 'Vincent Pricey' guy to me looks good too- his expression suggests a kind of weariness and perhaps anger at the situation in which he has found himself.

Just found this and really great work, yet again, Jerry.
Where can one buy this wonderful "set" of End of War figures? You say stash diminishment?
This idea and its subsequent progress looks like it's been conceived by a major mfg firm. Brilliant, I say.
Can't wait to see how it turns out, will be following Jer...
