Hi Guys, I'm going to attempt a step by step on this one.
Up next, its 1947 and some of Hitlers wonder weapons arrived in the nick of time to push the allies back and carry the war back to Russia. This is a "What If" diorama. Using a JS-7 modeled by Giuseppe. It will be a summer "green scene" field with wood line. I commissioned Giuseppe a while back to build something for an upcoming project and saw this JS-7 which made a couple light bulbs go off in my head. So I figured I would do a step by step from the start.

Interesting! I always like these kind of "what if" and alternate history diorama scenes. It gives a chance to change it up a bit. Can't wait to see some progress

I'll get some more pics up this weekend, I get emails on how I do the bases prior to groundwork so I'll start there this time. I thought this would be a fun twist, not something I usually do and will have a bigger twist in the end.

Search Operation Unthinkable a war plan that was started by Churchill in case of war between the Allies and the Soviets in the time frame of 1947 or so. Another interesting spin for your idea.

Sculptamold applied over plaster cloth, now our base is solid and ready to go.
Just to give an idea where I'm going with this.
This is what we will use for the start of the main full foliage tree, its about 10" there will be others but not this big

Following plaster cloth wrap we coated and stippled surface with sculptamold and painted a bright green with cheap acrylic paint.
Followed by a basic layout with 6mm and 4mm static grass applied for base, you really won't see the static grass with the field but it gives a great base for sticking all the field grass and weeds in.

Looks great! I admire your tenacity to plant the field grass. I tried it once, with no idea how long it would take. Can't wait to see how it all comes together!

Thanks Connor, just friggin busy, Short update, main field grass base in, still have to neaten up the edges. This grass was twice as high and trimmed. Now I'll thin some out and dust a little lighter olive color paint with the air brush to tone the pure green down a little before adding the other weed/field textures. There will be a lot of other textures coming to simulate the heavy field. Then we will do the rolled over track area.
