Hi everyone ,

here i am with the introduction of the last three guys . We have a killed LT with a wounded sergeant lying over him and to their right a soldier who checks if the LT is killed or not .

You will notice the black primer on the figures. I used a black primer from Vallejo . ( TIP )If you are using the same brand of primer then don't clean the models first before you apply the primer . You achieve the best result by applying the primer directly onto the surface of your model after the gluing ( greasy surface) .

Here is the picture ,

Thanks for watching .

Thanks again Jerry for your never ending support and the beautiful words of encouragement . When you use that black primer of Vallejo remember (before applying) don't clean the figures first with dish soap or detergent that's very important !

Hi everyone ,

here's an update of the three guys .... well four actually together with the medic . They are almost done painting.

The sarge tells the medic to check on the Lt but the medic yells back that he's going to take care of his wounded leg because the Lt is already dead .

Here are the pictures ,

Thanks for watching and more soon...

Wow! ... this is a complex little scene. Can't wait to see these guys, along with the others embedded onto the groundwork!

Thanks mike and i'll give you a preview with all the guys together except the flamethrower .

Soon the lay out and presentation of the whole scene , however i'm not sure about the pose of the soldier who throws the bag away ,is it better when he lies down or in running position ?? I also have to think about the interaction between medic and sergeant . In the pictures above you see the right hand of the medic touching the sarge's head .... that's another idea i have to think about

Thanks for watching !

It is looking good! I know this is difficult. There are a lot of things going on in a small space. I have just started something with a lot of people in a small area and so I can take tips here from you,

Awesome painting skills achieved on all the figures facial details and uniforms. I will need lots of practice whenever I get started putting my 30 plus figures together.

What's your average time for assembling and painting one of these figures? It took me like a week to put one soldier together and paint - lol. It was a test version of an out dated soldier... Need more practice before building the actual figures that will populate my dio.

Thanks for sharing.

BTW, I liked how the thin wire idea turned out on one of your pics. Are you keeping it in and adding a few more?

Jerry and Joaquin thanks for your replies .

* Jerry , yes i agree and i have always the intention to make dioramas a lot bigger than the original idea because i want to add too much things and stuff therefore finding the right balance is a must IMHO.

* Joaquin , i don't want to take too much credit for my figures . They're fine , just basic . In compaire with other modelers like Jerry , Conor and others i am just a baby boy so to speak . Did you already try to combine figures with Hornet or Alpine headsets ?? I strongly recommend to give it a try . I need three or four days to finish a figure but my advice is always '' Take your Time to build or paint a model ''. It's not a car race here lol.

Yes i'm going to keep the idea of the thin wire or stretched sprue and there'll be more for sure ! Just wait and see , maybe you can copy that in your diorama as well .

To everyone ,

the lay out of my vignette , please have a look .

That's my original idea to add a small beach to the scene but after i saw a real photo of the landing on Omaha beach from Robert Capa ,i decided to cancel the part with the beach and everything will be standing or lying in the water .

As it is now , all nine figures are painted maybe i'll do one more ?? The radio guy lying on his back perhaps??

I have to build the tank first with Deep Wading Gear before i can start creating the groundwork with watereffect .

Thanks for watching !

I'm back with the pictures of the radio guy , he looks almost like myself but without the mustache

He's an older soldier , i made him look like 40 years old ...

Here are the pictures ..

Hi Kurt, nice to see you posting - I always enjoy watching your builds come to life! I'll stay tuned in - good work on your figures. I admire how you and Jerry (among others too...) are able to manipulate the figures to get such convincing poses - they really don't look like mannequins!

Cheers

Hi Nick ,

thanks and it's nice to see you checking in . I'll do my best to create some realism in my figures and i think i did a pretty good job so far .

I'm done creating figures . The radio man was the last one . Time to build the tank . The picture below shows nine soldiers around an obstacle and as it is now the radio man and BAR gunner are lying down. I'm not sure about their position , i mean standing up or lying down ?? Also the dangling guy who gets hit in the shoulder looks a tad unreal to me ?? i have to think this well through before creating the scene in the end. But that's for later .
The picture ;

Thanks for watching ,
Kurt.

Hi everyone ,

after the advice of my '' personal coach''on FB haha... ,i have dicided to add a few figures more . I still have a huge amount of spare parts in the spare box so i thought hey maybe a few guys more couldn't hurt . However there's a small issue to consider and the problem are the helmets . I used a few helmets from a Dragon 3G (third generation)box but most of them are from the recent Dragon ranger kit and those helmets are very well moulded and therefore bigger in size then any other helmets in 1:35 scale . Different size. I don't like that !!!

So i came up with the idea to make a tankcrew who are bailing out their tank. This is the result after assembling the crew members

The bodies are made from Dragon and the heads from Tamiya . It is a bit strange for me to say that i cut the heads away from the Tamiya torsos but that's exactly what i did .

I hope you like the new guys and thanks for watching .

NICE!!! Great idea to convert the new guys to tankers. Almost all of the DD Tanks sank on DDay off Omaha beach anyway so this fits!

Geeze, Kurt, this is some first class figure interaction. Looks great and I'll second Jerry on the tankers- great touch, don't see much of them on D-Day stuff.

Mike , Jerry and Conor . Thanks so much guys for the nice comments and yes i'm pretty satisfied with those tankers . Today i have almost finished one and i took some pictures to show you the paintwork .

The guy has a Tommy gun in his right hand so it seems that he wants to keep fighting . So i'm thinking to let him sliding alongside the turret (if you know what i mean ?)instead of crawling. So he must grab something with his left hand to hold on...

Thanks for watching ,

Thanks for watching and more about the Sherman tank on the next episode

Amazing work! The figures are just excellent.

Since you are a figure building machine, I would like to ask some advice.

I have some figures I need to change from military garb to civilian clothes (remove belts etc). What is the best way to do this and then to scribe the new clothing? This is my first time with figures so be gentle with me!

Hey Kurt, if I remember correctly, helmets in WW2 came in 3 size's; small, med and large. Some one correct me if I am wrong here.
