Hi all here is the next update I noticed a split in the vac form mizzen sail and was going to patch it with a stitched square then thought I would experiment with some super glue.

Unfortunately the superglue made the weathering go white but a coat of acrylic white and you would never know.

I've finished all the ratlines on the forecast

Hi all here is the next update seems like a lot of rigging on this but it's nothing compared to the soliel royal, and I've barely started this.

Hi Ken,

very nice work, she's really getting busy with all those rigging!! You're doing a fine job there! - and good to see her standing on a more solid and even surface...

Cheers,
Jan

Hi all here is the next update

I'm actually quite shocked and proud, my missus just said you can't stick that in your junk yard(what she calls my spares room)she said I just can't think where to put it, maybe we could get a display cabinet.

Hi Ken,

that comment of your missus quite rightly makes you proud, and I'd say your missus is quite right with here judgement!

You are doing a great job there!

Cheers,
Jan

High praise indeed, Ken, if your better half is suggesting a display cabinet.

Lookin'good! Reminds me of my Thermopylae!

I guess I got spoiled with the blocks in this kit, as they have a small eyelet above the main block, so that the block can be attached to whatever. Made life so much easier!

Hi all well this is shelved again for a while I've broken the (I don't know what it's called) the bit that tensions the bowsprit, I'm not actually sure how to fix it as it's very thin plastic and superglue doesn't seem to work I'm so annoyed at my clumsiness, this is the fourth time I've broken something on this kit. I will fix it, it's just annoying.

Hi Ken

sorry to hear about your mishap with the bowsprit.

Are you able to fix it using some brass rod?

She's looking good by the way!

Hi Mike she's 92 cm from tip of bowsprit to stern and 55 cm tall, she's big but not the biggest I've built.

Well I'm livid I was hoping to finish this tonight (so close and now so far) I picked it up to turn it round to do the rigging on the left side of the second mizzen sail and it slipped from my fingers, if I'd let it fall it would probably landed on the floor on it's stand with no damage instead clumsy me tried to save it I broke the bowsprit (again) it took Supreme control not to hurl it at the wall I've managed to create a heath Robinson collection of weights and threads to pull it all together and get all the rigging true (the dolphin striker will be a bit twisted though) I'm hoping when all set it will still all be true and I won't have to strip all the rigging off and start again. I really am cross, I mean really cross, I came so close to finishing her grrr.
