THANKS for the "heads-up", Mario! Almost makes me want to go out and buy the ACADEMY M60A2 kit! But DRAGON's -A2 is due any time now, and the AFV CLUB -A2 is also on the way, so I think that I would like to read the reviews on DRAGON's and AFV CLUB's "Starship" kits before I buy...

Nevertheless, DEF makes "TOP NOTCH" products, so I'm sure that DEF will offer update kits for the other two kits as well...

Thanks, Again!

I am very curious to know why DEF has not provided in both their M60 detail up sets (items DM35002 and DM35056) corrections pieces for the wrong engine deck grille detail, where the filter outlet duct enters the engine space towards the turbocharger.
It should be a rounded shape with a hinge, not a flat surface. This detail is utterly wrong in both the Tamiya and Academy kits, and totally missing in the Academy M48 kits.

This.I noticed this too.
Did Academy only put 1 fuel filler? Tamiya did 2,and you have to shave the one on the left off.

DEF probably overlooked this part, or decided that it wasn't worth casting- nothing is perfect...

Academy's hull looks suspiciously like a carbon-copy of the Tamiya kit, and has both fuel caps. Given the tight location, I found it a pain to shave off.

That is because it is, as most of the rest of their M60 kits are, with a few improvements, but none to the hull.

It's been a while since I worked on an Academy M60 kit, but wasn't one of the improvements over the Tamiya kit separate handles on the hull fender stowage bins? ISTR that when I built the M60A1 Blazer kit years and years ago...

I'd be reluctant to try it unless someone can confirm it works. The Dragon kit has a lot of dimensional errors so things like the mantlet may not line up

How about fitting the set to the AFV Club kit?
