looking at the photo of the so called abandoned Sd.Kfz. 7/1 more closely and I noticed a couple of things.

Firstly, I don't think its abandoned. If you zoom in closely you can see a figure who appears to be sitting on the bench which is directly behind the drivers seat. He appears to be looking down and is wearing the reversible white/mouse grey or white/camo winter uniform. Secondly, I couldn't make out what was behind the vehicle but upon closer inspection its looks like its towing an Sd.Ah 52 trailer. This is good news for me as I was planning to use the trailer in my build.

Agrred, it is not abandoned: If you look at the ammo rack on the side of the gun, it is full with these bent ammo clips...

Great build so far Dave, I'm following the rest of this journey. My armor stash consists of a Tamiya Famo, a Trumpeter Sd.Kfz. 6/2 3.7cm Flak 37 and a Trumpeter 2cm Flakvierling 38 Auf Selbstfahrlafette (Sd.Kfz.7/1 late version) With Sd.Anhänger 52a. Like you, I'm intrigued by the fact that my main interest is WWII fighters, and here I am trying to shoot them down.

Cheers, D

Nice progress, Nicolas.

Sounds like the paint you used was not mixed properly by the factory or because it was not shaken enough. Sometimes you can shake paint forever, but the pigment will still be stuck at the bottom until you pry it loose with a toothpick it similar. In any case as long as it dries the sarin sheen will be easily solved with a flat coat of varnish.

Looking forward to see more.

Nice build mate,

I have been using the Mig paints for a few months now and have found no matter what I do they come out satin.

Once the filters go on and weathering they are dead flat even without the weathering I have found a flat clear makes them completely flat.

Thanks for showing us this build I will keep watching with great interest.

Cheers Ben.

I have had similar bad experiences with MIG paints and never buy them now. It is the only brand that I have had problems with.

is it true the Dragon kits of the haltrack have "fit issues"? I have a bunch of these Dragon kits & never started one yet. The quad 20mm & the 37mm AA

As always for me I say; it is a shame to hide all that beautiful detail.

Very nice work. The Trumpy vanilla Sd.Kfz.7 was my first review on Armorama. The detail on the chassis and the engine is excellent.
