Question about the front shield.

It seems there are two type of front shield. This one looks a bit different than the Live Resin one which have more bolts and parts not present on the Legend shield.

Is there a type more recent than the other ?

The earlier version of MCTAGS used a shield with an armored skirt divided into three parts. But this design has less strength and soon was replaced by a solid part.

Awesome! The different angle renderings really makes me want to get one in 1/16th scale!

Do you know what's interesting about this figure? Peter S. actually welcomed feedback as to what to make next. The figure's subject pose and Tomahawk is actually one of those suggestions someone offered. It is indeed something different, especially for 1/16th scale. We modelers can indeed make a bit of a difference.

Thank you, Peter Samofalov and Legends! This really looks unique!

Peter, this latest figure looks like another hit for you and Legend. The tomahawk is a nice touch. I just received your new MCTAGS from Legend. I think it will be an easier build than the other kits on the market. I like the options you've included in the kit. It truly is a great offering. I wish I had an inbuilt MCTAGS from the other company to do a side-by-side comparison. The price from Legend is a bit steep though. I'm still trying to find good photos of the M1151 A/C unit for you! I haven't forgotten.

Regards,

Eric

Eric, did you not look at any of my M11XX walk-arounds?

Brent, I did look at all of the walk-arounds I could find by yourself and Pete Becerra. I just wanted to provide Peter with the best photos I could. I don't know if the ones I could find would be enough for him to build the 3d model from. I've been talking to him through Shapeways for a while about doing the A/C units because they are a major feature missing from the Academy kit. I also need to provide him with dimensions and photos of the Bronco M1114 and Academy M1151 wheel wells with dimensions so he can get them to fit nice and clean. I am thinking about using the Bronco and Academy kits to build a frankenkit to get the best M1167 I can.

Eric

So you need to see how the Red Dot units fit in the wheel wells?

Brent, that is exactly what we're looking for. Some really good detail shots. There are a few available on websites but they are of commercial units, not the military ones. The units that come with a Legend set for the Academy M1151 look nothing like the real units. Thank you for any help you can give us.

The Army has me traveling for two weeks. When I can get around a HMMWV or my motorpool in the middle of April (which ever happens first) I will see if there is a decent photo to be had. You really don't see much I don't think.

If you don't hear from me by the 10th or so, you may need to shake my tree.

Thank you so much friends, I'm really glad that you liked the new SEAL#4 character! I Hope the 1/16 scale version will be released soon, the masters of Legends are especially strong on a large scale works, and on the models keep all the smallest details.
And thanks to Peter Ong and Kylie Newton for the suggestions and discussion of different ideas in the process of working on the figure characters

Eric, thanks for the professional detailed review of the TOW sets

It's an interesting idea to make a side-by-side comparison of MCTAGS sets of Legends and “other company”. I noticed a lot of mistakes and distortions on the MCTAGS sets from “other company” , and I can say that the MCTAGS set from Legend it is the only one on the market correct set of MCTAGS turret.
And I'm ready to do the M1151 A/C unit

Also a very interesting topic on the Legends MCTAGS turret from Pete Becerra

As a little FYI, Peter has released M4 mags in 1/16 as an option https://www.shapeways.com/product/P66HK6G6F/1-16-spm-16-022-5-56-magpul-hk-mags-in-fastmag-p?optionId=73178927 As a service to you all, I’ve ordered some and will let you know just how good they are soon. Being a big fan of all things Samofptr, I expect the mags will be worth the money.

Great stuff, Peter; looks amazing.

On Shapeways, you have a 1/16 HMG 50cal M2 (a thing of resin scale beauty, see below) do you have any plans to release a figure to accompany that, please? Maybe a soldier in flip flops, shorts, teeshirt, IOTV, & helmet?
