Hi Luigi, no problem, i made the same mistake.... But it was too late to remove. Great model you build here, verry impressive your scratch parts. Can't wait to see it painted. Work on a late Achzarit too.
Your Website is pretty cool, beautifull work there, like it.
Cheers Christoph

I have scratch build some elements that I will use in the base which I will place the Achzarit. This is two elements of mobile barriers of containment in reinforced concrete present in many areas near borders of the Palestinian territories and a pylon for electric cables damaged. The first two elements they were built using as a basis of balsa wood 5 mm thick covered with ready mixed sealer-surfacer and further when dry sanded and engraved at various points to simulate wear while the pylon It was entirely scratch build with plasticard.

I finished the background of the base for Achzarit and positioned the elements. Now I'll have to make the ground and start painting it all first the damage trellis and the two containment barriers.

I started painting the IDF ACHZARIT.After applying the primer I colored the entire vehicle with Humbrol 72 Matt Khaki Drill and color to dry I applied a second coat always with the same color mixed with 30% of Matt White only on the top of the vehicle. In this step, the color will be too light but after a few washes of the successive weathering steps that the vehicle will receive it will again have an appearance very similar to that of the initial paint coat.

In these days I started the weathering steps of IDF Achzarit starting from the bottom of the hull.Although not visible a finished model the work on this part of the vehicle allow me to test colors
and the techniques that I use in the next steps to finish all the work.Naturally being the part most exposed to degradation the weathering work It will be more pronounced starting with the chipping paint using Humbrol 88 Matt Chocolate.

Weathering works continues on IDF ACHZARIT and I basically completed the lower area of the hull completing the phase of chipping and realizing the accumulations of mud and dust and with ground modeling and powder pastels of artist.Glazes clearer dust have been realized with oil color Yellow Ochre Pale. For sagging oil I used the product of AK Interactive Engine Oil while to reproduce the bare metal on edges and parts subject to friction, I used a pencil 6B.

Paint work continues and post some pictures where you see the top of the model after the phase of the chipping and after the step of the weathering as an example of the various steps that I made and then over this operation I will paint the various details present on the vehicle.

Excellent work Gigi.
If I understand correctly, for this type of Achzarit I can use MENG SS-008 Achzarit late, but I need to put T-55 wheels and tracks?

It would be this type? image is poor quality, sorry.

Here are the photos of the IDF ACHZARIT finished and fixed on the base. This work took a long time but the end result has satisfied me.I wanted to represent this vehicle of the IDF during a patrol on the border of the Gaza Strip during Operation Protective Edge in 2014.

Hi Luigi,

can it get any better?

NO!

This is absolutely fantastic! I love those beaten/worn IDF vehicles and you have done the best to represent that battle weary look!

I hope this won`t be your last IDF build.
