How to thin lacquer thinner?

I find hardware store lacquer thinner too strong. How do you make it less strong?

Besides "use less", depending on what paints you're using, you could cut it with alcohol, or a host of other chemicals.

What makes you say that it's "too strong"? What kind of effect are you trying to eliminate or mitigate? Also, what brand paints are you trying to thin and what brand of lacquer thinner are you using.

Need more specific info on your problem before making any suggestions.
