Almost ready-canteen and gas mask container painted. I will do some weathering when the both figures are finished.

Larger shots. I've tried to imitate the characteristic cover pattern of the canteen with sponge, although considering the scale its recognizable at close distance

wow! it is perfect! every aspect of it: the mokup, the granade, the gun, the canteen... but what strikes me more are those throusers! really super!

I've found that the best way to paint the camo is to start with less blotches, then proceed to more and not trying to do it at once.

The figure painting is really well done. I keep going back and looking at the tree and studying how you made it. Simply amazing work.

Venelin, the enlarged pic really helps. Super painting and detail.

And last job for this year
With the second figure I will do the things differently, instead of grey Surfacer, it is primed with black and white. That way I will make shadows and highlights of the base color and some difference from the first figure. By the way those Surfacers 1500 are great, beautiful spray and coverage with Leveling thinner and doesn't obscure even the smallest details

Fabulous - really first rate...
The base is outstanding work. The Tiger is great.
But the quality of the figures just brings it together.
Camo is hard to get that "blob to blob" ratio correct at scale and these look spot on.
And happy new year too!

Ken, I use Raphael 8404 and W&N series 7, both size 1 but the Raphael bristles are larger. I prefer slightly Raphael.
Also Vallejo retarder and glaze are handy for layering.
And the most important tool-the soap, keeps the brushes in good shape

I have only to find decals for the helmet insignia (I wish figure makers include such), because it will be extremely hard to paint it, I don't use magnifiers .
Uniform is ready, I used paler brown for the base this time, for variety
