Matthew Lenton gives a view of a new, free, instalment of Glenn Bartolotti's armour finishing series, the subject this time is Dragon's small scale Funkspahwagen.

@firstcircle - Matthew,

I have seen this offering and must say that your review sums up the salient points superbly. I agree with your assessment that it might be targeted to those that are entering an intermediate stage in modelling and are somewhat drowning in information overload. In my case I found that a few of the suggestions interesting (black base coat, using ground pastels) and may have to give them a try. But as you, I found that a bit more detail in some of the finishing processes would definitely make this 'book' more beneficial to a wider range of modellers. Then again, you definitely can't beat the price and it definitely shows how a little extra effort can turn a monochromatic colour scheme into something much more interesting.

Cheers,
Jan

These are a great series for the price. I have reviewed a half dozen of them, and found the information excellent.

Nice Review.

I have most of these, and really find them helpful. Esp the weathering and finishing tips.

And I also feel they are well aimed at the wide range of intermediate model builders who are looking to improve their base skills and take it to the next level.

Nice review and I was able to get one these free which makes it even better. The pictures are beautiful and while brief, the explanations are okay. I have a SdKfz 234/3 that I could give the technique a shot. Would have liked a few more pages of the SBS's.

Regards,
AJ
