Hi Frank, I'm working on a Zombie Apocalypse dio over on the EOD campaign. I purchased a Box 'O Zombies here http://boxozombies.bigcartel.com/product/box-o-zombies-set-1

This is a photo of my truck with the zombies

anyway, hope this helps.

Altho this image is a bit blurred, you can get the size difference between the zombies and a 1/35 scale figure

Hmmmmmmmmmm, a couple of those female zombies look pretty hot! Puts a whole new meaning on the adage of "going out and getting a 'bite to eat' (pun intended)!!

What's going on here? It's been a little over 2 years and no new post/photos of zombie dioramas built?

Got out of modeling about 15 years ago because I wasn't enjoying it any more. About a month ago thought about getting back into it, but didn't want to start another aircraft or armor because then I'd start doing all the detailing work I could on it...and burn out any modeling mojo I had.

Then checked YouTube/Google and found a bunch of zombie dioramas, though I was only interested in 1/35th scale. Apparently, The Walking Dead people have a bunch of what they call "action figures" from the series....for a price of course.

Took my built Italeri Humvee out of the display case, then taking it apart in order to open the doors/hatch and have an open tailgate. It's going to be pulling a Tamiya trailer from one of their WW 2 truck kits.

Working on Italeri's BMW R75 motorcycle w/sidecar which has been modified with hatch opened where the storage area is behind the sidecars seat is at. Of course, didn't decide to do this until AFTER the side car was assembled. Been checking YouTube/Google for reference material as I want to add brake, etc. lines to the bike and if possible, scratch build a trailer for it to tow.

Waiting for my 1/32nd scale bus from China to arrive some time soon. Not sure if I'll build it modified to protect people from zombies or something entirely different. Anyone remember Alice Coopers School's Out Forever song? Maybe have a bunch of zombie kids rushing out of the bus to attack/devour teachers?

There's Tamiya's WW 2 German bicycle built and a horse which has been built/modified. I cut off the horses head to change it looking off to one side instead straight ahead. Next is to look at photos of western saddles and scratch building one out of Milliput....at least that's the plan. Also have Tamiya's JSDF motorcycle along with several other WW 2 motorcycles. that I hope to use in the future.

Using/cutting up/modifying WW 2 military figures to look like civilians, then will be casting parts so each figure looks a bit different along with adding resin heads. And after a month of looking, finding women I can use such as Master Box's Zombie Hunter & Skull Clan set which I'll make molds of, then modify the figures to look more realistic.
Then there's the Not Dead Yet women, along with Aurora in Japan which sells lead figures that I'll do the same. These are ordinary looking women, but cost $20 each.

As for getting burned out, hasn't happened. Get tired of working on one thing, simply work on something else. Think this helps because everything I'm working on is related. Got a lot of drawings from Google showing post apoplectic world/city/town drawings, several which show downed helicopters. One drawing I do like is an elephant walking on a freeway overpass in a city that is heavily overgrown in vegetation. From Dollar Tree, have farm/zoo animals that I may be using in other zombie dioramas. Got some cars, pickups and semi-trucks w/trailers in my stash that I hope to also eventually build.

Hopefully I can show something here in a month or so.

Just an update.

Due to job as truck driver, haven't had much interest/
energy in working on my zombie stuff. Kind of does that when you work 14 hour days, 5 days a week. But ordered some 1/32nd scale die cast cars/trucks which just started arriving.

4, 1962 VW buses, but bodies are plastic and not metal as advertised. Only door behind passenger seat opens along with top cargo hatch on back of bus. Made by Kinsmart.

2011 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor with driver/passenger doors opening with detailing inside of both doors. Metal body. Tailgate doesn't come down and running/tail lights are nothing more than pieces of tape. Made by Jadatoys.

2014 Silverado with driver/passenger doors opening along with detailing on inside of both doors. Metal body. Tailgate doesn't come down and running/tail lights are nothing more than pieces of tape. Made by Jadatoys.

2001 Chevy Astro van with driver/passenger doors opening and detailing on inside of both doors. Rear top hatch opens, but not the bottom part which is suppose to be 2 pieces. Has smoked glass for windshield, etc. Funky looking roof rack on van, will either scratch build or made a copy of it in resin. Metal body and think it's also by Jadatoys.

2, 1/32nd scale Airfix VW bugs, but think steering wheel is on wrong side....it's on the passenger side?! Gotta be an English Beetle, something that's gotta be changed.

Interior detailing looks good on trucks and Astro van, but VW's need a lot of work. Fake looking under carriage detailing on the Chinese stuff. Going to need spare tires, so will be casting copies in resin. "Fun" part will be trying to cut the 1 piece "glass" into separate pieces for a more realistic look.

1 of 2 AR-15 kits came in by Dragon. Waiting for the AK-47 set. Hope to post some photos of each vehicle, but will be using my Canon FTB with macro lens as my digital camera is only good for basic photography.

Thanks, but my aircraft and a couple of helicopters are in 1/72nd, 1/48th and 1/32nd. My armor/figures/etc. are in 1/35th, which is why I'm going for 1/35th & 1/32nd scales.

Been awhile since posting anything. Had health problems starting in Oct. and between then and Jan., ended up having 3 stints and a heart valve installed. Started back up March and since then have kept Ebay/Squadron people busy. Hope to posts photos soon. Using my Cannon 35mm w/macro lens. Don't have a fancy digital camera and because it's film, have to turn it in and wait a week for processing.

Finished a merry go round and the 3 seater swing set is almost done, just need some fine chain from Michaels/Hobby Lobby. Also working on a jungle gym. Modifying 1/35th military figures to look like civilians and then make molds of them. Waiting for the silicone stuff to be delivered. Will be using Milliput and/or Green Stuff to make clothing. Women (I hope) will also soon be on the assembly line to be modified, etc. Also been buying 1/32nd diecast vehicles, but now found out there are 1/36th scale types available.
Unable to post photos....doing something wrong here.

Sorry about the delay but life has gotten in the way I got married and have not had the time to build models like I used too

In the last few months bought 6 resin survivor type figures which were cheap enough at $7 each w/free shipping. Got Tamiya's OLD WW 2 Japanese figures which I'll modify, then cast molds of so I can have multiple figures. From Trumpeter, there's African Freedom Fighters and the Afrika Korps set. Got the freedom fighters set because they're black....you just don't see too many black figures available and I want a wide variety of survivors/zombies. The Afrika Korps figures are in shorts and many are bare chested which means I can add clothing to the figures via Milliput or Green Stuff, then once again, make molds of for multiple castings.

Finding women has been the hardest, until I realized Master Boxes pinup art set was exactly what I needed. Sand down clothing, add Milliput/Green Stuff for clothing, make molds of, etc.

As for cops, Zvezda has a set of anti-terrorist cops that with a little change, become U.S. cops in riot gear. And just got 12 Preiser figures in 1/48th scale that I'll modify, etc. to become teenagers. Got some other 1/48th scale figures via China and some HO stuff too. Not sure how the HO figures will work out, but it's worth a try.
