Jim takes a look at this brand new release from the folks at Meng Model, the AMX-30B MBT which was developed during the Cold War and is still in service today.

Jim,

I am not an AMX30 expert either, but that looks like a nice kit. Think I will be getting one!

Thanks for doing these videos!

So I guess this retires the old Heller kit. Definitely going on my list. Thanks for the unboxing.

Very nice, thanks for the video.

Looks like the suspension is workable with those torsion bars?

I think the Heller AMX-30 had a separate kit for the Gulf-War version. What do you guys think, can the Meng kit be built into the Op-Daguet version OOB?

Definitely no. The rear deck is different, the engine grill is different, the front glacis has some mods and the turret has ogt a number of mods as well + you'll need to scratch build the side skirts.

This is a must have for me! If only there was a decent 70's or 80's French crew available from a reputable company.
I already know about the ADV crew. I ordered it from them directly almost a year ago. They took my money but haven't sent the items I ordered and they won't return my emails. I recommend that youdon't order from them, only buy their stuff if you find it somewhere else.

Anyone knows what the holes under the barrel are for? And to Jim, while doing these vids which we all like, please be aware of the sounds of your recorded voice. At times, it was almost inaudible. Thank you ;-)

They are designed to let the moisture evacuate the thermal sleeve.
