After watching this unfold over the past 2 years, I'd love to see it in person at AMPS. Best of luck! It looks awesome. I'm actually struggling to cobble something together for the show.

Well Conor, I was hoping this entry would be the one to make that happen... but it's not looking good. I've been putting in the hours trying to finish it all up and dang it's close.
I added some crates and the white tarp to the back of the truck,

I used some decal protectant sheet to keep a thin smooth look.

The deal breaker is the sculpting...
I started the painting, and the sculpting just isn't up to snuff. I've improved my skills, but I think I need to make one more run at em'.

So, it's kind of disappointing, but I gotta do it right!

J, I'm sorry man... There isn't much to update, and... probably won't be much to update for a while. The weather is getting nicer and it's time again to move my activities out in the sunshine!
Now that's not to say there won't be something now and then. I picked up another smaller set of silicon brushes, a couple of new reference kits...

and I built something I've been wanting for a while now...

That's right, I'm on the way to pressure casting!!!

So, when I do get going on the figures again, I'll be sure to throw something up here.

It is amazing ! The upgrade of flak 38 is great, and I consider superb some details of the horch, i.e. the engine and the seats. Very great job and thank you for sharing

Well, here we go! I've got the gunner painted up and mounted...

Right now it looks like there may be only two figures to re-sculpt.

Conor, nice to see that you are still out there and following along!

I have a couple more figures finished...

The bigger deal is that I think I finally figured out what is behind the Horch!! After looking at this picture for so long, I think I finally have it

I think it is a Mercedes 170 VK

I went ahead and ordered a couple versions to see what I can come up with!!

The sculpt is coming along...

Hopefully I'll get some pockets on tomorrow an then he will be ready for paint!

I took a look back in the post and got the seating arrangements adjusted to the original plan.

Gee Jonathan you’re really rushing this build!

Only just caught up with this, seriously impressive work & it looks fantastic. But my blood froze when I saw you’re considering buying one or more MB Type 170’s – see my thread somewhere on page 1 of the Dio forum. To do it justice i.e. to your exacting standards, be prepared to spend another 6 years fixing that one up. MiniArt also does a Type 170, it cannot possibly be worse and is probably a whole lot better.

That’s my good deed for the day, take it or leave it!

Cheers,

Tim

Tim, I gotcha! This build has spent a long time on the shelf, but I figured it was time to take it home! The figures we're my biggest hang up. I did order the 170's, but I'm not sure where that will end up. The figures will work with what I have on the bench now so I'm planning on finishing up what I have. There may be an alternate ending to the build, but right now one ending will do! So I'll keep plowing forward at a snails pace! Hang in there J (F3066) one way or another we'll find an end to this build!

The last two are done!

Of course I couldn't help myself, so I've started work on the alternate ending!

I think this is the right move...
