I use 8 to 10mm round wood stick or 9mm aluminum pipe and cut straps prom brass/copper plates. For stovepipe I used 4mm drinking straws

I am sure I have missed something here, but the stove in that picture should be vented through an outside wall, not into another room... if you know what I mean...
But your work is still incredible. You are putting so much detail into the buildings that the trains will be an anti-climax I think.

Hi Warren,
Its vented to the chimney liner, not to another room of course
the chimney liner is aligned with fist second and third floor up to the chimney placed on roof. From that line I ventilate the 1st stove. The 2nd one on the signaling tower section has its own chimney liner

While still working with the signal tower I'm posting some images on soft kits I completed earlier. This is just to keep you guys warm with the topic.
1/35 scale BOX WAGON from Tank Workshop is one of the wagons I will use on the dio.
I had some trouble with understanding the assembly manual and pouring damages with this resin kit.
Any way I upgrade ed the kit during the essembly process.
There something wrong with the roof
The resin door railings were a bit bulky. I used brass "L" profile as a replacement
the base of round buffers were not bad but cant say the same for other pieces so I replace them with RB Model upgrade parts.
Need a step under the sliding doors

Your work is great specially for me because am starting since 2 months also a big diorama where 2 Karl morser will be involved and one on his railway carrier in some small railway station in the east
I plan to use similar kit to yours !!! so will follow your progress with great interest like an TV serie !!

By far that is one big project you have going on. Your work on the buildings is great. Thank you for the detail information on building of the stove. I look foward tpo your updates. Iam planning to do a railroad station one day. Keep up the great work.

35A08 Railroad round buffer
&
35A09 Railroad flat buffer
(each set contains two identical buffers)
Please note that you have to order the both. Because wagons use round buffer and flat buffers together

88mm Flak Wagon is another piece of model I will use for the dio.
There were several varieties of these wagons
This is the one I take as reference.
I started with an old Tamiya Flak 36/37 kit (kept it since 99
) bud did the Flak 18 conversion with the remaning parts from a Dragon Kit..
Dragon 1/35 Schwerer plattformwagen Typ SSy was used as as a platform
A precise cut wit a help of a friend who owns a Laser cutter.
Had some spares left from another kit. I make a use of them for structure joints...
Also better to lock breaks before firing

Beware the Tamiya Flak 38. I believe it is the same one as comes with the 7/1 half-track. The detail is very soft and the fit poor. This actually made me decide to buy the Dragon version.

I totaly agree with the old Tamiya Flak kit. Its poor with details but surprisingly it fit fine with Dragon parts I added.

It is not easy thing to plan everything to look natural and to place everything so that diorama will not look like desert. But now I see how many vehicles you are using and your attachment to every detail I may stop worring about it. I am only curious how many figures you are planning to use - you have place for at least hundred of them:)
At the end I will write: GOOD WORK!
