This is a well written and researched history of a largely ignored campaign. The BOB, although admittidly potentially more damaging to the Allies, gets all the glory.

Nordwind was a hell of a fight and there are few accounts ( I refuse to count Charles Whiting's sneering calumny as history) .There were a lot of brand new U.S. Infantry outfits thrown into this , and they fought like tigers . 6th Army Group was constantly shafted by Ike and his irrational hatred of Jake Devers. Too bad, they did miracles with very little
