Keep checking out ebay and amazon. You may hit the jackpot one day,who knows? Also, keep going to model shows and check the vendors. I have scored some major deals at those already.

I've got to, haven't even started chapter 2 in DITM 2, but I'm already hooked. What's really drawn my attention is the battle in the Sanatorium, but I don't want to skip to anything. I'm already thinking of ways to make a diorama of the combat inside the sanatorium too after seeing the aftermath photos when I was flipping through. Funny, I kind of like making winter dios in summer and vice versa. But I might wait until you finish yours of that subject.

Also, don't know if I told you at AMPS but I did finally finish Hell's Gate this past winter hahaha. Great read and I'll have to go through it again.

Aha! ... There it is! I've been following this thread in part but somehow lost track of it and missed the Sanatorium page -- that architecture is stunning.

Yeah well,I am still hoarse from yelling at the TV. I don't know why I do it as they never seem to hear me!! LOL
There were several German born kids on the team as well. It was a melting pot effort, just like my country.
I still think Klinsman is a genius for just having gotten us so far and we have ,I think, about the best goal keeper there is. 16 saves in one game? Football is on the rise in the USA,doubters beware.
Having said all that, back to the most important thing my friend and that is your health.
Please get better soon! Das ist streng kategorische befehl!
We all need you here to keep us in line after all.

Oh I understand Mr. Rutman sir, I don't blame you in the slightest. I'm fiddling with a Caen vignette now but I'm sort of not pleased with a different approach to Oak Leaf I took.

Come winter when things freeze though, I'll be waiting to resume the attack on the Sanatorium with great interest.

All the best to you as well, Romain, I know a few people who've had to go through that and you've got my utmost sympathies. Get well soon buddy.

A comparison shot for anyone scoping out kits with horses. The left is the new kit from MB with the Lancer, the middle is the old Italerie version an the right is the MB kit with the horse drawn farm wagon. All pretty close in size.

Thanks J , this is very interesting ! Do you notice a difference in the details of the horses ? The size is simultaneous for as far i can see.

It is good to notice , you have your Mojo back

I have the same problem by the way

Hi Kurt,
I think the one on the left has a neck that maybe too big. It could be the angle though.
The details are a bit better on that one as far as anatomy goes.
I still actually like the old old Italerie one the best though as far as proportions go.

Hi Jerry,

thanks for the kind words and your wishes bro! I do appreciate your support!!

I'm slowly coming around after one of the worst weekends of my entire life!

However, it was the last chemo for now...and I hope I can get back to (more or less) normal for some time at least!

Having not been able to work on my dio for close to 2 weeks now, I can't wait until I start painting again!!

Take care m8!

Cheers

Romain

Hi Romain,

Didn't know you had been unwell, sorry to hear that. Take care and God speed. Both my Brother and Sister have been going through this these last couple of years, thankfully things are looking OK at the moment.

All the best

Hi Alan,

thanks a lot for your support m8!

It wasn't my intention to make such a big fuzz about my condition!

Modelling is our common interest, isn't it!!

Let's have some fun then!

Well OK then, let's have some fun then.
I was dutifully rewarded a few weeks ago when my lady asked me to look through some stuff as she had been cleaning near my area of the basement. After the required amount of grumbling on my part I looked and did find!! I threw out of bunch of stuff but also found a lot of gems. A whole bunch of airfix multipose for one thing. Nice for making figs for the 1/32 scale aircraft stuff.

I also found an old Italerei medic wagon.

Brought me back to the 80s. I found that using the Tamiya wheels from their kitchen wagon was a rapid improvement in the old medic wagons' appearence as the wheels are much better on the Tamiya kit in width and details. They will still be improved but you see the comparison here.

Placed on the wagon temporarily

You may wonder..huh? what does this have to do with this dio? You will have to stay tuned. I am sworn to secrecy

Romain,
Thanks for checking in so quickly bro. I have posted clues concerning this dio on several threads in the past. I am still debating wether to pu them all on here at once when it's done or do a step by step. Hmmmm......

Hi Jerry,

Should make for an interesting addition and also reflect that much of the German equipment was still pulled by horses even by war end.

Cheers

Romain!!! My wife was floored when I told her of this post quote!!!! She thought for certain that no one else in the universe used the term " Geegees " for horses....

Awesome!

Kurt Alan and Dave,
Thanks for checking in buddies. Alan, yes, they still used copious amounts of horses right up till the curtain call. I have pics of fields filled with horses surrendered by German units as they turned over their combat equipment to the allies. I think the poor beasts probably ended up in the pot to feed the starving population at the wars' end.
