Just totally freaking AWESOME. I saw this a while back and kind of lost track of it. What a great diorama. Shep Paine, who is my modelling hero, had nothing on you Jerry. You are a true artist. Congratulations on the award.

Wow thanks man !
That is certainly praise of the highest order,

I am posting the best diorama award that this dio won at this years'AMPS show in Danbury Conn.
I am not posting this to toot my own horn but to show how cool the award is and to give thanks for the guys that worked so hard to put on this excellent show. I encourage you guys to enter an AMPS contest. It is possible for every entry to get a GOLD medal if every model in that category is that good !
Thanks to AMPS and to Fine Scale Models for sponsoring this award.

Hey! Those two guys are still three sheets to the wind!!! Great award, and well deserved Jerry! Three cheers.... hip, hip, hooray!

Thanks buddy! I actually got a bit off painting done on them recently as well !

Sorry for the bump. I finally entered this in a show, the AMPS convention in Danbury this year. I got a Gold in the Advanced cat. in Dioramas and also the "Best Diorama" award from Finescalemodeler.
I am thankful and humbled for this distinction and would encourage anyone that has not been to one of these to try it. They are fun and well run and the vendor room is really something !
Sorry for the bump for all you guys that are probably sick of this one by now.
J

I'm not sick of it for sure, and would love to see a few more photos, perhaps a feature even. I'll never get bored looking at your work-- had I been at AMPS I'd probably still be standing there staring at it. I still say you and Doug Cohen should get together and hold your own exhibition-- you could even charge for it-- I'd pay to see it! But you need to stop that habit of boxing them up and getting rid of them after a while-- these are really works of art and should be in a museum somewhere!
VR, Russ

I concur with the esteemed colleague, Russ. Museum works of art J! Should never be junked! Lots of guys here would take them off your hands I bet... I'd pay to have one shipped! I'd tell everyone, " Look at this! It's a Jerry Rutman original! "

Thanks man,
It will take some repair work on this one now because the roads between the AMPS show and home were unforgiving with the pot holes. A lot of stuff was displaced. So if I ever get that together I would like to take some pics out in the sunlight.

Sorry for the bump. Two guys were asking about the FJ I did for this scene and I figured it would make it easier to find if I bumped this. Sorry guys.

WOW... just plain wow. Glad you reposted this, Jerry! You are amazing at dios. Everytime I think "I'm getting carried away with this...", I see another of your works and just get blown away.

Where do you get these ideas? Did you have a tortured youth filled with WW2 movie marathons? LOL!

Stupendous museum quality work... something to strive toward as a builder!

Sorry Patrick for the very tardy answer but I hadn't checked on this thread for weeks!
Thanks for the very generous and kind words brother. As I have said before I am a frustrated movie maker and this is my outlet. A much more time consuming way to show th action but a lot less expensive than making a movie like "Fury" or SPR.
I was a career soldier as well and so I feel for soldiers of all countries, yes, even ones from Germany. Soldiers rarely care about politics and these poor slobs in Normandy getting pounded from all sides, including from the sky must have gone through absolute hell. So I try to include the human factor whilst divesting the wartime propaganda as much as possible.
Everyone that clicked on this thread has my everlasting thanks and appreciation as I said before-THANK YOU !!

Sorry for the bump guys. Someone from another website wanted to check this out so I made it easier for him to find it. The limber may end up being offered in resin!
