We have just received news of a new Aftermarket firm from Asia. Orange 3D Miniatures of Singapore cover Sci-Fi and Fantasy figures and have just expanded their range to Military Topics.

Their first release is a detail set in 1/72 for the Airfix Jeep kit to super detail and correct the front grille, and dashboard.

Hi Jon

I thought at first this was a existing company details of which I'm sure I'd seen before, but no, just a name very similar. Too similar in my opinion to not cause possible confusion and problems in the future.

Hi Alan, yes I too thought the same myself. However they are different companies and don't seem to be connected.

Orange 3D Miniatures seems to be very new with only 1 1/72 kit out at present.

However there are similar examples in Eastern Europe, Miniart, Miniarm for example.

It will be interesting though to see if Orange Hobbies Lawyers have anything to say about it!

Wonder how long I'd last if I started Dragon Model 3D Miniatures, manufacturing model kits ...woooossh...gone !!!!

If they specialised in a completely different field/subject it may have been different but I just think its too close to benefit either parties interests.

Good luck to anybody starting a business in these uncertain times.

Thanks for posting this up John and also for the heads up on Orange Hobby, wasn't aware of these guys. Oh well, sounds different enough though so we'll see how it goes.

Had some trouble finding the academy jeep in the local hobby shops here so there's a delay in the academy jeep photo-etch, sigh. 72 scale afv's are just not that popular here.

Cheers!
