Nice to see this back on the road.

Cheers,

Hey Roy

I am an ex Sgt from B Coy, 3 Inf Bn (the Bloods), worked with the M3 for 16 years and tested and selected the Piranha 111, tested against the Steyr Pandur. I have to congratulate you on the work to date on the M3, hope it's finished now, would love to see the completed article. I have been looking for years for a model of the old car but no luck. Excellent work really great to see it taking shape. Please post latest. Dilis go brath.

Hey John

Thanks for your kind words & insightful background on the subject.
I imagine you must know the vehicle inside out!

I hit a wall with this some time ago with this build.
I Realised there was a problem with some measurements in the drawings.
I've since managed to correct the problems but the project found itself on the back burner since..

I'll certainly come back to this at some stage in the future.
Perhaps I might even borrow your expertise when the time comes if I hit any further snags!

Let's see what 2016 brings

Míle buíochas

Just picked up on this now, Roy, looks super so far. My kind of build, love to see lots of white plastic.

Great work! :-)

Cheers Sven, this is just a dust collector for the time being..
However after the blog was resurrected somewhat here today, I have a recent urge to have a look at this & see can I jump start the project. It's been a while to say the least..

In the meantime the SKPF M42 project is well under way (thanks to you)
So I'm going to stay focused on this for the time being

..I might start a build blog here on Armorama for old times sake though..

Roy,

Any chance of paying you for a copy of the plans for this beastie? I am embarking on an Irish AFV modeling binge!

Cheers,

John

Hi Guys

Thanks for your kind words & comments.
I'm also very sorry my late reply.
It's a few years since I've been at this particular project.
(I've even married & had kids)

I stalled on the project a few years back.
It turns out my reference drawings were flawed.
Had I continued following them the rear end would have been a monstrosity when finished.
Although they appeared fine on print the measurements just didn't match up.

I had observed hobbyboss releasing a number of Panhard subjects a year or so later & so I assumed the M3 might arrive at some point.
At time of writing here, there still is no definitive news regarding any resin or injected plastic M3 sadly.

I don't know if i will get back to this project. Certainly not in the near future anyway.
Should there be any change in that I'll return to the build blog here.

Thanks again for your support.

Roy
