Hi Alan. Thanks for the review.

Quoted Text

Thanks to Tracy White over on Model Shipwrights I was able to get a view of a suitable picture on the second style of boxes. These I believe are the Navy style of containers, again from the reference picture they look to be very accurate, with the correct layout and configuration. I could find no other data on them and cannot say if they were also issued to the Army.

Im no expert on ammo or ammo boxes but this is the type of box I was looking for my M42 duster as used in Vietnam. I bought 2 sets from Azimut that are similar to this that you bought, plus they have a few clips as well.
Check for item AZI35376 on their homepage HERE

If youŽd like to swap your 5 US style for 5 of my UK style, let me know

Can do, PM sent.

Hi John,

Some of the MiniArt A/c Crew might come in useful as well as the Vulcan 2pdr gunners!!

Hi Alan

Some reference images for the "US" style boxes as used in Vietnam.

The first image below is what got me started on my quest for these boxes. Thanks to some very helpful members here and on Missing Links who identified them, and also tipped me about the Azimut set (which was the only one available at the time I bought them).

Lion Roar have also a nice set of turned brass if you want to display some loose rounds. This set includes a few etch pieces to show clips. I managed to get a set through Ebay, but they were hard to track down.

Alan .... PM sent. Cheers.
Where did you buy the SB Scotia set from?

And finally an image of the Azimut set. Costs €9.90 from their shop, but they have a high post charge as well.

Hi Frank,

Thanks for the additional info on the boxes. Thats the ones.

SB Scotia are available from SB Models (Stewart of SB Models makes the SB Scotia range) and Netmerchants have recently started stocking their kits too.

Yes,postage from Azimut can be high I got the Citeron conversion set from them, postage bumped the cost up a lot.

Cheers

Al
