Hi all. I've been a fan of the LAV series for a long time now. I wanted to start a picture thread showcasing only LAV variants. Yes, all versions are welcome...III's, Strykers, LAV-25, you know what I'm talking about. So be a sport and post your LAV builds for everyone to see. Okay, I'll start.

LAV III:

M1129 Mortar:

M1134 ATGM:

Ok, here is mine. It is just about done, so I thought I would give you just a little taste of it. The wheels and under carriage is done with MIG powders. I have weather the sides, back and top with powders and i will call it done, hopefully by this weekend.

My wife just took the pictures and tried to do here best, got to love her for trying. More pictures will be taken when it is completely finished.

Yup Charles it's the Trumpeter Stryker. When I got the AFV Stryker, I kind of put it to the side. I went ahead and got the addtional armor and slat armor for it and decided to bring it back to life. I will tkae some pictures of it this weekend when I finish the other one.

Great idea Charles. This is along the same lines as the P-47 Thunderbolt SIG over at Aeroscale.

Well done Pete. The SLAT looks incredible. Was it tough to put together?

The LAV turned out great Rick. The signs are the icing on the....Light Armoured Vehicle.

Matt,
It was a little trouble at first, especially since the slat was the one designed for the Trumpeter kit and I put it on the AFV kit. But with the help of Milo, I scratched all the addtional armor like he did and managed the slat ok.

I DON"T KNOW HOW MILO DOES IT WITH ALL THAT SLAT ON HIS STRYKERS?

Some old, some new.

A Cougar, one of my first major scratchbuilds, done in the late 1980's using Esci's LAV-25 lower hull, AA wheels and an AA Scorpion turret.
Then:

And now (after being in a box for ?? years, wheels used on another project?):

Grizzly:

Italeri LAV-25. This was an article in MIS way back:

And a recent build. Trumpeter LAV-25, Warriors figures. Sneak peak, this build will be featured in an upcoming Osprey Modelling book.

Looking forward to the LAV-III, want to do a Coyote, Bison, all the rest of the Canadian LAV's!

Cheers,
Jim

LeoCmdr that lav is fantastic.

Im in the process of scratching a full interior and turret for an ASLAV. Got any close ups of your interior??

And where did you score the helmet resting on the drivers hatch??

Cheers

Thanks for the compliment......there are crew helmets on on three hatches actually...they were made from using the helmets in the Dragon US tank crew set.....some curled wire drop cords and PE microphones were added.

Sorry....no interior images....I will have to dust off the LAV and get around to taking some.
