Introduction

And again I bought one on an impulse. Although not something I would usually go for, I knew I had to have this one... the figure of a graffiti painter was just too cool to pass by. Black Army Models definitely thinks out-of-the-box when producing their 1/35 scale figures.

Review

The figure is packed in a hard cardboard box featuring Black Army Models logo and box-art picture of the painted figure. In the box, a zip-lock bag contains 5 resin figure parts:

- full body with legs and arms
- head
- left hand
- right hand (2x).

The resin cast is very good. I did find couple of seam lines on the inside of both legs which need to be cleaned carefully. Also, be patient when removing the right hand (the one with fingers spread) from its carrier block as it is extremely delicate piece of resin. After cleaning the figure, I didn't have any problems building it whatsoever; the fit of the parts is very good.

The figure depicts a young graffiti writer leaning on the wall, probably doing a quick tag with his spray can. He is dressed in a simple hoodie and cargo shorts, with a baseball cap on his head and sneakers on his feet. He also sports a small fanny pack around his waist. All the clothing is sculpted really well and the details are nicely defined: the hoodie includes a front kangaroo pocket, while the cargo shorts feature large thigh bellows pockets and reinforced seat.

Conclusion

The fact I bought this one on impulse probably says enough... I loved this figure from the moment I saw it. Whether tagging a wall, writing a political statement on an abandoned military vehicle, or creating more elaborate artworks and murals, this figure can easily be a centerpiece of various show-stopper vignettes.
SUMMARY
Highs: Nicely sculpted and easy to build. Want to add some graffiti to your 1/35 scale vignettes? Look no further, this is a figure for you.
Lows: Couple of seam lines.
Verdict: Highly recommended.

You wonder how did this addiction start? I was a kid when my dad broght home a 1/72 Concord airplane; we built it together as well as couple of other airplanes after that. This phase was just pure fun: glue, paint, decals in no particular order... everything was finished in a day or two. Then I disc...

Thanks for the review, Mario.. it looks like it's nicely done. I hope we see more similar modern civilian figures that can be used in various settings.. and maybe a set of heads to kind of give a variety of ethnic backgrounds... We're finally getting all the modern vehicles we've been hoping for.. and it's time to get more figures to use with them. Cheers Hisham
