I have to admit I have seen this book on the shelves of my local hobby shop for many years. I have thumbed through it several times and always stopped at page page 41, winced and put it back.
To be fair, the subjects are for the most part well treated. But for a single topic. The last topic on Scratchbuilding an 1:35 a Roland C.II 'Walfisch' has always been a sore spot for me. So The basic thrust is detailing with sandwiched / laminated plastic card and taking advantage of PE and wire. The painting techniques are in the experienced class but most experienced modelers have these methods in their arsenals. This book is really aimed at the novice to help them in the next level skills.
There are a couple of misplaced captions involved in the text. But these are minor as the effected images are on the same page.
The Roland C.II build is an old school build and the problem is they chose the wrong aircraft for the system they used.
1.The book recommends a horizontal slat and putty approach. The LFG Rol. C.II & C.IIa employed interior walls with diagonal veneer detail on the side walls.
2. The wing rib caps are represented as above the fabric battens. These were infact normal rib caps with fabric re-inforcements.
3. The 1/35 engine profile drawings are severely squashed. The motor they represent is a 1918 180hp Mercedes. But it was the 1916 160hp Mercedes that was installed in most of the airframes. Production of the Roland LFG C.II was terminated in late spring 1917.
4.Also the exhaust is only connected to four of the six inline cylinders.
5. For super setailing or advanced modelling this build's interior is almost nonexistant.
6. The routing of the propeller lamintations don't match any existing photo images of these aircraft examples.

Highs: Most information is solid and can easily be applied. Simulated wiring and etc. Lows: The book fails severely in super detailing a scratchbuild. Just because a kits is 1:32 - 35 scale does not allow that any detailing is super.Verdict: Basic detailing info is worthwhile but does not follow the hype of the title.
