StuG.IV Ausf.G Late

by: Vinnie Branigan [ TEACHER ]

introduction
Eduard produce sets for older kits from time to time, as is the case here. This two fret set is for the Dragon StuG.IV kit number 6043. Here we take a quick preview of what the set has to offer.

the set
The set consists of two frets of PE and five sides of instructions. Eduard begin by offering new rear mudflaps and a new set of air intake covers for the engine. For the front of the vehicle, we get new brackets to hols spare track links, new front mudflaps, a bracket for the Bosch headlight, which will mean trying to remove the moulded on one, and a couple of armoured periscope covers. Back at the rear, along with the new intake covers, which necessitate the removal of the moulded ones, we also get various tiny fixtures and fittings including new Notek rear convoy light, retaining chains, joining strips, exhaust brackets, and a very extensive upgrade to the jacking block?

There are of course, new brackets supplied for all the tools, including some PE track wrenches, and also a new box to hold two spare road wheels. I think that you should be warned that to use this set, nearly everything requires that moulded on detail will need to be removed, so it's going to be a tedious task to install everything, although the results will certainly be worth it.

Lastly, we're offered some improvements to the inside of the hatches in the form of handles, locking bars etc., and also a new shield for the MG34, although you'll probably totally replace this if you're building this particular kit.

SUMMARY
Eduard have produced this set for the Dragon StuG.IV, kit # 6043. Included are two fair-sized frets of PE which offer a good set of improvements over the kit items, although a large proportion of it requires careful surgery of kit parts, so it will be a major task to install it all.
