Introduction:

Royal Model offers a big selection of 1/35 scale model accessories in their catalogue, all very useful for dioramas and vignettes. This review covers a set of electrical boxes, conduit fittings and connectors in different sizes, used both in household and industrial settings: Electrical Boxes (813).

Review:

The set is packed in a hard cardboard box. The front of the box features a composite image featuring contents of the set and painted parts of the set used in a vignette. Quite a good way to promote the product, as one can see not just everything the set includes, but also what talented hands can do with the set.

The resin pieces are safely secured in a sealed plastic bag. Opening the bag reveals 6 long carrier blocks holding 80 resin pieces. These are actually 3 different blocks, each supplied in two slightly different sizes. The cast is perfect, with all the details nicely reproduced. Some of the pieces are very delicate and extra care is advised when removing them from the carrier blocks. Cleaning the pieces could also prove as a test of patience, as these tiny parts would not tolerate manhandling.

The set also includes two spools of wire in different diameters. These should come in handy as conduits and cables for electrical wiring.

Conclusion:

Electrical boxes (813) from Royal Model delivers 1/35 scale resin electrical boxes in several variants and dimensions. Junction boxes, fuse boxes, connectors and conduit fittings, as well as electrical wiring… it’s all there just waiting to be installed to a factory wall or many other urban diorama settings.

SUMMARY
Highs: A selection of different electrical boxes and fittings nicely cast in resin. Two spools of wire are an added bonus.
Lows: None.
Verdict: Highly recommended.

About Mario Matijasic (Maki)
FROM: CROATIA HRVATSKA

You wonder how did this addiction start? I was a kid when my dad broght home a 1/72 Concord airplane; we built it together as well as couple of other airplanes after that. This phase was just pure fun: glue, paint, decals in no particular order... everything was finished in a day or two. Then I disc...

Comments

Just as an F.Y.I. these boxes are more correct for European electrical applications. Just know that for a US application, generally speaking, in the US these would only be appropriate for low voltage wiring such as security, alarm, fire detection, fire response, phone and video. These would not be correct for major power conduction in either a residential or industrial installation.

Thank you for your comment. I'm far from being an expert in anything electrical related, so any comments on using these are more than welcomed. Mario
