Introduction

As mentioned before on Truck Driver review; Paracel Miniatures lately released 3 figure kits ; MW3526-27-28 representing a rocket launcher crew especially designed for Diopark 35020 - Field Modified Civilian Truck w/UB-32 Rocket launcher. Company gathered all in one kit and named it Rocket Men.

BMW3505 includes three 1/35 scale figures - two ammo loaders and a rocket controller, all sculpted by Janleo and cast in cream color resin.
Review

Figures come in a big square cardboard box labeled with a photo of figures painted by Mai Chi Thuan. Parts are represented with easy to remove blocks and served inside a transparent zip-lock bags,. Casting quality is quite good with no serious mistakes on review samples, just a partial discoloration on one arm. I checked it is not a defect just a color problem. There were a few seamlines to clean before painting.

FIGURE-1
  • Sculpted as a young warrior posed to load ammo to rocket launcher, he comes in 2 parts; full body and rocket with hands. First to do is to remove support pins on shoulders. Facial details are well defined with wide forehead, thick lips, beak nose, long curly hair and beard. He wears a t-shirt with v-neck and short sleeves painted on boxart as Barcelona team jersey of Messi. His trousers are military type with rear and cargo pockets with flap covers. Folds on clothThere is a scarf or towel inserted to his left side pocket. ing are nice and they can be painted in many different colors and camo patterns. His shoes look like high-ankle sport shoes with untied laces.

  • Hands with cotton work gloves are cast on the rocket. Rocket is a S-5 rocket - Russian air-to-ground missile used by aircrafts and attack helicopters. It is a 55 mm calibre unguided rocket fired from a 57 mm calibre tube, consisting of a steel body containing a solid fuel rocket, and a high-explosive warhead with a mechanical impact fuse.

    FIGURE-2
  • Second ammo loader is posed slightly leaning forward as he puts the rocket inside the tube and comes in 5 pieces. He looks older than first loader and has a Russian Style Tanker Helmet with heavy cotton on his head. He wears a waist length parka or heavy jacket, trousers with two rear pockets and leather boots. Wide collar, waist string, shoulder straps of the jacket, Mideast scarf - Shemagh wrapped around his neck, tactical knee pad on his left knee are all nicely represented.

  • Arms are posed to carry a rocket and has nice cloth folds. Left arm has a discolored part but as mentioned before it makes no problem.

  • Hands wearing work gloves with cut-off fingers are cast with S-5 rocket. An alternative hand option carrying a tank ammo shell is given as a bonus inside the kit.

    FIGURE-3
  • Rocket controller is posed to kneel on his right knee and comes in 3 parts. Facial features and open mouth are well defined. He wears a jacket with two waist pockets which is painted in woodland camo on boxart but I believe it would look more realistic if painted like a leather jacket. He has jeans and leather shoes without laces. Tactical holster on his right thigh is a nice touch.

  • Right arm is posed to control the detonator/ignitor.

  • Detonator is given as a seperate part and left hand is cast on it.
    Conclusion

This is a nice kit designed for Diopark UB-32 truck launchers but can be used for some other scenes like a Mideast street or house ruin with 35021.
  • SUMMARY
Highs: Good posed figures for street or truck launchers. Ammo loader -2 has alternative hands.
Lows: A few seamlines to clean. Discoloration on arm but I have to admit it is just a color problem and never makes a problem for the figure.
Verdict: Useful kit for Mideast conflicts.
