Introduction

Paracel Miniatures keeps releasing modern Middle Eastern figures for Syria conflict but they also can be used for different periods and locations of the same area. Lately the company announced 4 new figures depicting a driver and a three-men rocket launcher crew especially designed for Diopark’s two new Field Modified Civilian Trucks and Rocket launcher ; 35016, 35020 and 35021 kits.

MW3525 Truck Driver includes a 1/35 scale figure posed to sit on the driver’s seat, sculpted by Janleo and cast in cream color resin.
review

Figure comes in a cardboard box labeled with a photo of figure painted by Mai Chi Thuan. Served inside a transparent zip-lock bag, parts are represented with easy to remove blocks. Casting quality is quite good with no serious mistakes on review sample but will need to be cleaned before painting.

Figure comes in 9 parts;
  • Head - Three alternative heads - Arabic, African with eye glasses and Asian are supplied. On the Arabic head; facial details like wide forehead, thick lips and beak nose are well defined reflecting frequent seen facial features of Middle East men. Hair, moustache, beard and black headband with Islamic declarations are nicely sculpted. African head has nice curly hair and aviator type eye glasses. Asian head shows straight hair, wide cheek bones and small nose. African and Asian heads have slightly visible seamlines on the right cheeks.

  • Body - Over his t-shirt, he wears a tracksuit top. He has a towel and a dog tag style necklace on his neck. Legs with trousers are cut under-knee level and there is a pin-hole system for the easy and correct fit of lower leg parts.

  • Lower legs - They make good fit to the body. After gluing them, you may need a little work for filling and sanding to cover assembly line.

  • Right arm - Posed to hold the steering wheel; cloth folds, two vertical stripes on the arm and knit cuff are well defined.

  • Left arm - Two alternative left arms are given that allows modeler to build him in different poses. One is posed to hold the steering wheel and other to put his left elbow on the windowsill. Note that support pins should be cleaned on the hands.
    conclusion

    This is a nice figure designed for Diopark trucks but can also be used for some other vehicles. Three heads and two left arms options make it multinational and multipose. It needs a quick cleanwork and filling on underknees and shoulders.
  • SUMMARY
    Highs: Nice posed figure that can be used on driver seat of many vehicles. 3 Head options, 2 different posed left arms.
    Lows: Seamlines to clean.
    Verdict: Useful figure for many vehicles.
