introduction

Paracel Miniatures lately added a group of figures titled as Street Fighters to his Modern War - Middle East under Fire series depicting fighters of Syrian War that can be used as members of SAA (Syrian Arab Army), FSA (Free Syrian Army) and also for some other Middle East conflicts.

Third figure of series is MW3522 Running Man looks like a fighter with his irregular clothing and machine gun running to find a place to cover himself.
packing

Figure comes in standard cardboard box of the company labeled with a photo of painted figure. Body and arm parts are inserted into a transparent zip-lock bag. Machine gun and parts are inserted into another one and secured with a small cardboard inside the bag to avoid unexpected damages.
review

Figure is sculpted in 1/35 scale and review sample is cast six parts in lose green color resin. Parts are represented on easy to remove blocks. Casting is quite clean but seamlines on arms and especially under the machine gun need to be cleaned.

Posed running with his machine gun, figure body comes as three parts ; full body, right arm and left forearm.

  • Facial details are well defined with a wide forehead, thick lips, beak nose, long hair and beard. He has a wool knit beret on his head. He wears a collarless under waist length pullover, jeans and a wide collar leather jacket with buttonized adjustment straps on waist. Boxart shows the jacket with a skull with flowers and leaves around decoration on the backside of jacket but modeler can paint any decoration he desires. Wrinkles and folds are well defined on clothing. He carries an armband on the left side. Armbands are used to identify the fighters and prevent friendly fire. Red color was worn by the Arab fighters of the Free Syrian Army and Blue was worn by Turkmens.

  • Right arm is posed to carry the machine gun.

  • Left forearm is posed open from the body as to balance him when running. Fingerless knit gloves is a nice detail.

  • He carries a 7.62 PK machine gun - Pulemyot Kalashnikova (Kalashnikov's Machinegun). 100 round box magazine and bipod are given as seperate parts. These parts will need some cleanwork.
    conclusion

Another nice figure posed and sculpted Street fighter figure. With his running pose and PK machine gun, he will be a good addition to Middle East conflicts scenes .

Owner and sculptor of the company, Giang Xuan Le, makes searchs and collects real wartime photos for inspiration and sculpting realistic figures which can be considered as a great reference for painting Middle East models. If interested, his War Zone - Middle East album can be seen here.
