introduction

Paracel Miniatures lately added a new kit to Run for Your Life series with two terrorist corpses that can be used in Middle East or Afghanistan dioramas.
MW3505 Terrorist Takedown includes two 1/35 scale resin figures depicting dead terrorists lying on the ground.
packing&casting

Figures come in a cardboard box labeled with a photo of figure painted by Jangleo, also the sculptor. Body parts and small parts are seperately inserted into transparent zip-lock bags.
Figures are sculpted in crisp details and cast clean in cream color resin. Parts are represented with casting blocks. I think there is no need to remove the figures from the blocks because the block can be used as a nice base when covered or /and painted.
figures

Figures are given in one-piece which no assembly is required.

FIGURE-A
Lying on the ground flat on his back, he shows a well sculpted anatomic pose for a dead body. He has a Balaclava exposing only eyes on his head. He wears a military type hooded parka with waist pockets, combat trousers with side pockets. There is a Shemagh - Arab scarf wrapped around his neck and a three pouch Chest rig is carried under the parka. As for the footgear, he has an ankle high sports shoe on his right foot and left foot is bare.
In my opinion; it would be great if the missing shoe and a rifle were added inside the kit to display next to this figure.

FIGURE-B :
Lying prone on the ground, he is posed with a head turned to left side and left arm under his chest. Posing is quite well but to be honest, I think position of the left leg and left hand closed as fist could be more proper. He has a Shemagh on his head used as a facemask. He wears a jacket or parka, trousers and slipper type shoes. He carries an ammo link coiled to his waist and chest, crossed on his left shoulder. Note that some filling may be need between legs on his butt. I echo a weapon suitable to the ammo link could be a good additon to display with this figure.
conclusion

If you need to add dead bodies to modern war dioramas, these figures will fill the gap for Middle East scenes. No assembly, not much cleanwork and multiple painting options.
SUMMARY
Highs: Nice subject, sculpt and cast. Hard to find dead bodies in 1/35 scale for Modern War scenes.
Lows: Missing shoe and rifles would be great to display next to figures.
Verdict: Nice pair to display on Syria,Iraq or other Mideast conflicts.

The manufacturer comes from Vietnam, therefore a small note: Who decides who is terrorist? The one freedom fighter is the other terrorist. Especially in Syria the distinction is really difficult.

I suspect that defining a terrorist is particularly difficult when describing resin figures whose motivations and modus operandi are, well, non-existent. They would be equally inappropriately described as 'freedom fighters' as the distinction is all about perspective and circumstances. Not sure of the relevance of the country of manufacture either. The issue I have is that, like most modelled dead bodies, they look too stiff and unrealistic. Unfortunately there is plenty of reference material about and to me they just don't look like actual corpses. Not saying I could do better but I don't see that as a requirement to offer criticism of how something compares to reality.

That would depend on how the scene builder depicts them.It would seem the manufacturer made them genetic. The builder decides what or who he wants to depict.

Only you can decide who is a freedom fighter, and who is a terrorist. It's something everyone has to define according to his own views.
