Introduction Alclad II have a wide reputation for their metal finish paints, and they are now offering a new enamel range of paints going by the name of Mil-Spec.
Each paint comes in a screw top glass jar which holds 30ML of enamel based paint.
The paint is pre thinned for airbrush use.
I have run the ALCE102 Matt Black through my airbrush and it sprays well and after about an hour it does start too dull down, but is still a little tacky to touch.
There is around 40 different colours of Alclad II Mil-Spec range of paints which include Luftwaffe, U.S, R.A.F and NATO, and utility colours.
The Mil-Spec range can be used with any Alclad primer and can be sealed with any varnish.
Each jar sells for around £4.50.
ALC307 Airbrush cleaner
Alclad's airbrush cleaner is designed to be used after using other Alclad II paints, and like most other Alclad paints, you should really use a mask, as prolonged usage and the smell is probably harmful over a period of time.
The airbrush cleaner cleaned up my airbrush well after using the Mil-Spec enamel paint.
The bottle staes it is not a thinner for any of the Alclad range.
Each 120ML bottle is priced around £3.50
Please remember, when contacting retailers or manufacturers, to mention that you saw their products highlighted here - on AEROSCALE.
Highs: Both are easy to spray and use straight from the jar. Lows: As with all enamels, they smell a bit.Verdict: A nice range of enamels that are ready to use through the airbrush.
The cleaner does just that, well.
