I started building models in 1971 when I was 6. My first model was a 1/32 P-40 Warhawk. Revell I believe. From there I moved onto the standard cars, Apollo spacecraft, and other kid orientated kits. what's the exchange rate when you checked this ?
Tim quoted the price for the Rye kit, It's listed at 6120 JPY. I don't know about the 38 GBP. I checked conversion rates for the whole month of August and none of the exchange rates jibe with that price, in real money or pounds. I did get mine from the Czech Republic for $53.28, including shipping.

In Canadian dollars it becomes $125 - $130. Totally unrealistic!
Hobby Center in Ottawa has the full interior Eastern Front version for $99.98 CDN http://the-hobby-centre.myshopify.com/collections/plastic-models/products/rm-5003-rye-field-models-1-35-tiger-1-e-early-with-full-interior And the early version with no interior for $74.98 CDN http://the-hobby-centre.myshopify.com/collections/plastic-models/products/rm-5001-rye-field-models-1-35-tiger-1-e So for once, with the conversion, we seem to have the better price here in Canada.

Yeah, I've seen it (the first release) recently (yesterday, as a matter of fact) at a local LHS (Hobby Junction - Montreal) for around $75 CDN.
