Introduction

Sometimes filling up the back of your latest truck build is a hunt through the spares box to find the required stowage items, then you have to work the puzzle to get them to fit just right and realistic looking. Well Value Gear has started to solve this small problem with cast load for trucks.

Contents

Included in the plastic bag are 4 separate cast stacks of box with some extra stowage cast on top and three separate cast barrels.

Review

Looking through the clear plastic bag, it already look like a truckload, almost ready to use. Taking the parts out of the bag, you can see just how well the pieces are cast. Examining the resin casting I found no bubbles or flash, and the pieces are very well cast, with excellent surface details on five sides.

The four stacks of boxes are all unique, using a mix of similar and different boxes. Cast on the top of the stacks are extra stowage items like rolled tarps and a rope. The items are situated to look realistic, and they do. Also included in the set are three cast barrels, again very well cast with additional stowage items on the top. Looking at the boxes and barrels, they do look representative of items I have seen in images of German supplies and equipment.

The set is designed for the AFV Club Bussing NAG and measures 139mm x 57mm. I pulled out my Bussing NAG kit and taped the bed together, and the parts fit in very well. Loaded in the bed they do make a convincing load. There is a little weight as the castings are solid, thus you may want to ensure you build can hold them, but this should not be a problem for a lot of kits.

Based on the pieces being separate, singles could be used for loads in other trucks, or could be used in a diorama depicting a supply area.

Conclusion

This new German Truck Load from Value Gear is a great option for creating a load in the back of a truck, and with excellent cast and great looking detail, it should really make a model pop. The resin casting is done very well, and with some paint, you have an instant truck load. I highly recommend this set from Value Gear.
