With AFV Club having announced the mouth-watering prospect of a new kit in 1/35th along with some excellent upgrade/conversion sets available, here's some news of what could be a invaluable series of reference books on the Churchill,

Previously announced via AirConnections, the book is now in print.

Gun Power 26 - Churchill vol. 1 is published by AJ Press of Poland.

First (of three) volumes describes development of the tank: Harland & Wolff's A20 project, A22 tank by Vauxhalls, then design and development of the Churchill. Next chapters deal with special variants of the vehicle: flamethrowers, combat engineers' versions, engineering and recovery vehicles. Gun Carrier 3 in. Churchill Mk. I is also included.

For those unfamiliar with the company's usual format, the book is A4 size with 176 pages, 190 b&w photos, 3 colour photos, 9 pages of scale plans, 28 colour plates (including color CAD drawings). The book is written by Leszek Moczulski and COMPLETELY bilingual (English/Polish).

This will be the first of THREE volumes covering ALL marks and Variants of the Churchill....
